If the Lakers could land Payton/Clark/Frazier this is probably a no brainer for them. This would take them out of the running for anything substantial this off-season though wouldn't it? In terms of money? Might be a team that's good enough to get to the WCF and lose to GS every year.

We'd be replacing Kuzma with AD. Sweet.
Call me crazy, but Zubac I actually think will be a very good center similar to the Gasols. He has a great feel for the post and always seems to be in the right spot on offense and defense. And he has great touch as a 89% free throw shooter showing he has the potential to be a threat away from the basket as well. But can't wait for that. You gotta go brotha.
Y'all know how I feel about Ingram. No problem there. We're better off replacing him with a knock down shooter.
So in the end, Ball is the only hangup for me. The kid has serious potential on offense, he has a top notch IQ, and defensively he's already one of the best defenders in the league. That would hurt and I wouldn't want him included in the deal if they are getting back Ingram, Kuzma, Zubac, AND a first.

Keep Ball and trade the rest.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Trying to figure out realistically who can/will make a good offer for him. Bad teams can obviously offer pieces and good picks, but I doubt they trade him to a "bad" team because he said he wants to win and I think they will try to make a move that he's ok with. Also what teams will give up big parts of their future knowing he likely won't resign if they aren't contending, and also what middle of the pack to bad teams will give up multiple starters for a player that hasn't show he can really elevate a bad-ish team to contender level status..
All of that combined feels like the Lakers might actually have a decent shot. There are probably only a handful of teams that fit into all of that criteria. I don't feel the Lakers have a "great" package, and I do think the Pelicans would get a bit more by waiting until the off-season. This does put some pressure on them, and Davis will likely be adamant about being traded soon now that it's out in the open. I doubt he wants to hear boos at every home game for the rest of this season.
Just going with this whole tampering thing, does anyone think the Lakers allowing the Pelicans to swoop up Randle for basically nothing plays any role in this?Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
Very few teams have assets they can part with while retaining a bright future. If AD truly wants to win then I don't see any destinations besides LAL or BOS unless GSW pulls off some comical stuff but I haven't looked at any of the salary numbers.
My buddy who's a Sixers fan is hitting me up saying they should swap Embiid for AD."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Curious to see how the rest of the league, or at least NO I guess, views the Lakers's young players. If I'm a Pelicans fan and I get all of them (Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram, Zubac) I'm not excited about the deal."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
What about Dallas as a 3rd team? Rumors were they wanted Smith gone, Lakers were one of the teams who supposedly threw them a couple offers..
Kuz, Ball, Zubac, and a first to the Pelicans, AD to the Lakers, Mirotic and KCP goes to Dallas with a pick, Dennis Smith heads to LA and Barnes/Wes to the Pelicans.Comment

And on schedule, I’ve already seen people throw the Knicks into the discussion. [emoji849]

Yeah I get that the returns for a superstar are usually less than ideal but yeah I would hate this deal as a Pelicans fan. LAL wouldn't even top my top 5 destinations for a trade package as a Pelicans fan. Their young players just aren't that special man.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics
