I heard he could bench even a little bit more than that. They said he wins a lot of bets on the team because people dont think he can bench a lot and then he throws up 300+.

      Re: Earl Boykins vs Shaq

He CANNOT bench 315. I hear stories that Ben Wallace can bench 440, it's all hyperbole. Lineman tested in the NFL combine bench around 400-440, and they've got bigger frames and shorter arms than most NBA players. So when ever I hear an NBA player benches 300-400 lbs, I just laugh. They don't have the body frame, the broad shoulders, big bone structures to do what these NFL guys do. I'm into lifting big time, I bench about 400, I'm built like a lineman. I know somewhat more about lifting than the average Joe. guys like Earl Boykins benching 315 are myths. Oh, he might say he can, and teammates might claim he can, but how many people exaggerate what they can lift out of pride. That's ridiculous. Lifters have big muscles and large body frames. Shaq said this offseason that he benches 400. You trying to tell me that Earl can bench 315 then? STFU. That's B.S.

Plenty of kids on our basketball team can reach up to 300 pounds. I'm no where close because I'm just not good at lifting weights. i'm strong though. There is a kid who I outweigh by about 20 pounds and he can lift 300 and squat 350. We're both 16/17 years old.

Dont put it past Earl that he can bench that much just because you know people that cant. you'd never know.

Be quiet. Please just stop. Have you seen ben wallace lately? He used to play football too so I guess just because he plays basketball now he's weaker?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

                  Re: Earl Boykins vs Shaq

Did you read my post. Shaq benches 400. No way Earl benches 315. My sister is BIGGER than he is. Earl has small muscles and smaller body frame. It's just not realistic. There are linebackers at the NFL combine that only bench 315, hardly any, but a few. So it's ridiculous to believe that. Believe me, Earl does not have the body to bench 315. And Benny Wallace don't bench 440, as some people say. He has no muscle mass, he's very very cut, but he's really small for his height. He's about 6'9, 245, that's not a lot of mass for a guy that tall. Same for Earl, he's 135 lbs. Theres a direct correlation to body size and strength, there are exceptions, WITHIN reason. Ever notice guys with big bodies and huge bulging muscles always lift a lot in the weight room. It's more than a coincidence.

Did you read MY post? the kid that benches more than me that I know is a lot skinnier than me. Weightlifting is more than just pure strength, and there is a certain way to do it. There are some huge cats that have what I call baby fat strength, but just aren't good at lifting weights. It's not all about pure strength.

Basketball players and fans are awed way to easily by a guy like Wallace. Stack him next to Ray Lewis, shirt off, and I guarantee Wallace looks like a wimp. And Ray ain't even that big. He goes about 6'0", 240. If he was 6'9", he'd go about 280. Ray would. And Ray only pushes about 400, now I know that's a lot for a basketball player/fan, but Ray is much bigger and stronger than Ben, and YET Ben claims to Bench 440. yeah right. No offense, if were talking about hops, I"ll admit i don't know much, I can't jump really. But if were talking lifting, I feel I know a thing or two. I'm about 6'5, 270, not to brag, but I'm not fat either. To me, Ben Wallace is very tall, but his size and strength don't impress me. Shaq does though. Ben is a tall guy that happens to be cut, but he's not large for his height.
