Lakers are looking to sign a center now. Pathetic.

Luke said he "might" change the starting lineup to combat the Clippers size tonight.

Might? Cause Kuzma at 5 has been working out so well, might as well keep doing it, right? How does anyone defend this clown?

I'am honestly more worried at the front office trading zubac for no reason and then to try to sign a center.

I get their reasoning, it just seems like a misfire because Muscala hasn't had any noticeable impact. But the logic was trading 1 of 3 centers that doesn't play outside the paint, who you weren't going to re-sign next year anyway, for a stretch 5. He just hasn't played well.

Kuzma is the ideal player to come off the bench and give them some offensive production, where as of the past few games has been completely non-existent. Best role for him is getting lots of touches, and best move overall for the Lakers is keeping a big on the floor. Just let him rotate in for Bron, Ingram, Bullock, and stop putting yourself in situations where all the mismatches favor the other team and where you have to sit Bron, Kuz, Ingram all at the same time at the end of the 3rd.

small ball lineups only work if your smaller frontcourt can play good defense. soooo.....

One of these days we’re going to have an honest conversation about the FO because most of the problems have started from the top and worked their way down to the team.

Like I said, they’ll hire Kidd or maybe even Mark Jackson(lets be real here, it’s going to be a retread and the options out there are nothing to brag about)and the same issues will exist.

It ain’t like you’ve been proposing many options.

You mentioned Shaw but didn’t really explain why or how he would be any different.

I dont have much to say on Walton...but I will say we just talked about the success Nate Mcmillian had taking over for Vogel. I'm not sure any of us were high on that at the time.

Sometimes a change in philosophy is needed...even if there isnt groundbreaking move name-wise.

I said that but nobody says a word even though Magic has done a horrible job in the front office.

All these lebron fans are out there telling Luke fire luke but wont acknowledge what led up to this.

Like i said, they miss the playoffs, Jeanie owes Jim Buss an apology

A different voice can make all the difference (see Blatt to Lue in 2016) and going with Shaw at the point the season was at when I proposed it was safer and more viable than a complete overhaul. I wasn't proposing him necessarily as the long-term solution. With how things have turned out this season though, it's highly unlikely Shaw could've been any worse than Luke has been.

Luke just misses basic things. Ingram, LeBron, and to a lesser extent Kuzma are the only guys who can create their own buckets. Luke will sit 2 or all 3 of them together at times and run a Rondo, Lance, KCP, Bullock, Muscala lineup or whatever garbage he ran the other day. He doesn't play to strengths, he doesn't have creative offensive sets. He doesn't know how to stagger minutes, he's been playing Bron and Ingram just about the entire 1st and 3rd quarters lately.

Or lately he's gone back to small ball with Kuzma at the 5, which didn't work early in the season, so don't know why he thinks it will work now. Kuzma having to bang around with 5's worsens his offensive output.

But like you said, a lot of the problems are just the roster itself. Regardless, he doesn't put the roster he has into the best position to succeed either.

Yeah Magic has been a complete disaster aside from signing Lebron. Nonsensical trades, absurd offseason signings, poorly constructing a team around Lebron, missing out on marquee free agents, and the awful way the AD trade talks were managed (although that might be more on Rich Paul than anything)

Honestly he didnt even do any work to make that happen. Everyone thought Jerry West was hating when he said as much but he was right.

Luke is expected to be fired this summer of course, after the entire plan changed on him and he had to deal with the dust of the failed trade rumors.

Shoot, why would anybody trust him to get an upgrade in the coaching hire? He’s done nothing worthy of praise since he got there.

We credit Ingram for his game improving and developing(so far)same with Kuzma and with Ball(on the defensive end but he wasn’t drafted to be a rich man’s Tony Allen)but wasn’t the reason Walton was hired was so he could help the develop the young talent? If so, he’s done his part on this end.

Who says the next coach will put an emphasis on developing young talent? So far, it’s looking like Magic overplayed his hand since he’s been in charge because if his name was Melvin Johnson, he’d be gone too.
