Re: 2/26 - 3/4 Games Discussion Thread
Are you asking if JJ is the worst player on the heat or the league? Because he absolutely ruins this team and destroys Justise every time he and Dion are on the court

Baynes is clearly the savior. they tried harder the bench wasn't a blackhole mainly because Rozier was out and they couldn't make a shot. This is really fun!
Please continue to start Morris. That seems to be working. people think it's Hayward taking the shine off of Jaylen when in reality it's Morris.
Morris has been bad as of late, but Hayward is pathetic. The guy has no business playing anywhere near the minutes he does right now. Could someone please explain to me what Hayward provides out there that Ojeleye can’t?Comment

Re: 2/26 - 3/4 Games Discussion Thread
Even in his prime he was likely never a top 20 player at any point. His size and elite skills made for great numbers and highlight reels but he was much more style than substance. His perimeter shooting was shaky yet he constantly tossed up long balls. He could be rendered impotent when forced left and he avoided contact too much on the drive. On defense he made a lot of mistakes away from the ball. Worst of all he was a choke artist in the clutch.Comment

Prime Vince Carter never a top 20 player at any point? Yeah I’m gonna have to get my thoughts together and recall all his years, but just at first thought off the top of my head, that’s a ridiculous and way off statement

Re: 2/26 - 3/4 Games Discussion Thread
I think that's a tad unfair to Vince.. He was never a super-duper star by any means, but likely cracked top 20ish for the prime portion of his career. That said, league wide top-level talent in that run wasn't nearly what it was a few years before Vince, or what it was after his prime years up to now. So he landed in a relatively weak spot for his best seasons.. But outside of the elite guys he's competing in a range with players like Redd, Mashburn, Maggette, J O'Neal, Marbury, Francis, R Lewis, R Allen, Bibby, J-Rich, Brand, Stackhouse, Glenn Robinson, etc..
It's hard to put an exact number on a player when not all players have the same role or situation. But if we are looking at a window, say from 2000-2007-ish, there is absolutely not 20 players who were better than him for that 7 year run, even if you could say well this year he was 22nd, this year 24th, or whatever.Comment

Re: 2/26 - 3/4 Games Discussion Thread
Morris has been much worse than just bad of late. Everyone knew he wasn't going to shoot this well for the entire season and when that goes out his game can look really ugly. Much better to deal with those ups and downs as a 6th man of the bench guy. Semi is only good if you need a different look like on Giannis for example or someone else because he is a good defender 1 on 1 otherwise he stinks. Like cmon. Like I know these last 3 games from Hayward have been dreadful which stinks because he was trending up before the break but not at that level.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Definitely top 20 for the last few years in Toronto and first couple in NJ. Whether that’s because he was so good or that there was such a lack of bona fide stars in the immediate post-Jordan era I don’t know. The early 2000s really were not all that outside of the Lakers.Comment

Re: 2/26 - 3/4 Games Discussion Thread
And right now we have maybe three or four superstars. The NBA isn’t very strong right now and a lot of the talent pool is concentrated onto one team. I’m not arguing that today’s NBA is stronger, but the early 2000s were a weak point.Comment
