Its beginning to look like realgm with all of this individual stuff.
What led me to this are a few things.
1. Looking at Last seasons Lakers and how DET totally demolished them although they had great individual ball players on the team, should tell you something. The game is getting ready to change.
2.Looking at the horrid performance at the Olympics this past summer should make al of us sick to our stomachs about trying to start post to pump up individual players.
Yes there are some guys Wade Bron Nash etc that are having stellar years, but we're beginning to go overboard with this individual stuff trying to put players now in mix with the greats of the past, when the L has completely dropped down a notch or two fundamental wise.
They deserve to be congratulated and celebrated withfor what they're doing now considering it is entertainment for us, but trying to put guys in comparison to legacies like MJ and Magic and Bird is absurd.
At the end of the day, its all about how well the teams play together.. win or lose. That's why you see the Seattles and the Phoenix's and the ORL's and the SA's and the TWolves winning and surprising people. They are playing team basketball.
This overpraising of individuals is so overrated. You have to play as a TEAM to win. Saying so and so lost the game(s) is just being quite silly.
Lets talk about teams as a whole. Not many seem to be catching on to the concept that this individual stuff is completely overrated at the end of the day.
When you look at it, MJ is gone.No other guard is like him. His era is over. No matter what good you have to say about tmac not past the 1st round, ai - dont look to ever return to the finals now. Scores 50 and looks sad that he lost because he realizes its about the W, Kobe, the boy is still too immature after 9 seasons, and was shut down one on one by Tayshaun Prince, etc.. alone none of those upper guys will win you a ring. Sorry.
If the team dont chip in heavily enough, you can forget it. scoring 50 or 15, you need the TEAM to win. When they all retire, they'll be judged by the W's the TEAM won together, not playing great on losing teams.
Lets talk team basketball in here.
