Originally posted by Yosemite DanThe NBA has a younger fan base as well as it is a simpler game to watch than football (alot of their popularity is the gambling aspect) and a faster game than baseball. So they have to market to the 12 year olds by emphasizing the players themselves who don't wear helmets and are easily identifiable. The same fans who buy the shoes and won't buy Tim Duncan jerseys because he doesn't dunk enough and don't care how many rings he has.Comment

The Miami/Detroit game was quite interesting. I know detroit has traditionally struggled to score, but the way they fell apart the last 5 minutes of that game was surprising. Yes Miami played good defense, but it wasn't that good. R. Wallace needs to get on the block and stay there. For him to have more 3 attempts then FT's is not good. He should have punished Haslem and Laettner down low all game and made them come double him. If Detroit keeps shooting so many J's they're done. McDyess seems to be returning to form somewhat, not as explosive, but very good on the block, if he doesn't break down, he will be a key to the Pistons going far.
Miami obviously is playing well, but they should have some concerns. Will Shaq and Wade hold up physically for the whole year. Wades "give me the rim or give me death" style, coupled with his slight physique may cause him to be cooked by years end. We all know Shaqs troubles with injuries the last few years. Even now both of them are banged up.
I'm stunned that no team has figured out how to play Miami, yes I know its much easier said then done, but you must gear your whole defense toward coaxing Wade and Haslem into shooting jumpshots. You must play way off Wade at all times letting have as many 20 footers as he wants.(He doesn't want any) If he hits them, you say good win Miami and move on, but you must limit his forays into the paint, to many good things open up for Miami when that happens.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment
