Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
Any cap experts know how/when teams exceptions are decided? Like is that based on the teams rosters as of right now, or what their cap situation will be on signing day?Comment

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
However some articles said that if a team is over the cap but under the tax they get the full MLE, those also said if the Lakers kept all their current players they would get the full MLE... My questions is right now with cap holds the Lakers are over the cap, which is why it was said that if they just run back the same player they would get the full MLE... So as of right now today they would qualify for the full MLE.. If they were to renounce all those guys and sign a max player they would still be over the cap because the max guy takes all their remaining money and they still have a draft pick that is signing over the cap, as well as Caruso and Williams that they gave qualifying offers for.. They could also go the route of signing multiple players and keeping Bullocks cap hold until the end, then re-sign him for however much puts them over the cap (bird rights)..
So technically the Lakers as of right now will be over the cap, and in the event that they sign other players will also be over the cap.. So I'm not getting how they don't have a full MLE, if that's even true to begin with.
