    Re: 2019 Offseason Thread

I hope NBA can do the right thing and schedule Clippers vs Raptors as the Raptors home opener.

Kawhi deserves to be in the building for the banner raising and championship rings.

Who do you propose they sign that would be up to your standards?
I mean he isn't really wrong. I like Korver as much as the next dude and he's easily one of the best shooters in league history but he's 38 years old and an absolute sieve on the defensive end. Same for Quinn Cook, he's been good at shooting the rock so far in his career and tries defensively but he's still bad at that end from all the games I've watched of his these past few years. I mean he tries though so credit to that.

I mean they're bench players so it's not a big deal but it isn't pessimistic to call them for what they are is it?

Is Kawhi the 1st Finals MVP that may not be at his team ring ceremony?

Maybe it'll get scheduled so as for the Clippers to be the opponent on the night of the rings?

Jordan was retired, but I'm guessing he was there for 98 and 94 banner/ring?

That has to happen. I know NBA might want to save a meaningful return like that for a more boring time in the league like middle of January or something, but it needs to be the game to kick off the season.

NBA players with any sort of pull should be looking to hire Uncle Dennis as representation. How he managed to orchestrate this whole thing under a cloud of secrecy in this day and age is nothing short of amazing.

                        That's kind of my point.

The Lakers went all in on this Super Team idea because they are the Lakers and they think it's their birthright.

They never should have gone all in on Kawhi. They should have been satisfied by getting AD and then build a real team around them instead of banking on a lotto ticket.

You can call it revisionist if you'd like, but I think any reasonable team would have made an effort to build a slightly less talented but deeper team. Hell, the Knicks of all people figured it out, why didn't the Lakers?

That realgm story says Toronto would've gotten Kawhi to stay.

They tried to trade for Paul George but wanted to throw in RWB, but wanted Siakim, Lowry, either Gasol or ibaka and some picks

                          Toronto turned it down

Mavericks still have cap space. I'm sure Cuban is gonna come in and swoop up Morris or Boogie or both. He hates the Lakers lol.

Well, I'm thankful so far the Lakers team this year is looking much better than last year's. Still got LeBron + AD, which is a better duo than any other duo in the league. They're surrounded by shooters.

Defense is gonna be wack though, they're gonna have to outscore everyone.

Clippers can at least sign Rondo & do us a solid.

Dallas got big screwed. They were keeping their cap space open for Danny Green and the Lakers over the topped them. Now they are sitting there, hoping to give a bag to Morris or Boogie?
