I proud of rbruns, HE IS FINALLY RIGHT, about Pippen that is. I know the Bulls wouldn't of won 6 titles without him. the best 1-2 combo ever in the history of sports

And when Jordan retired before making his return with the Bulls, Pippen did nothing without him, Jordan MADE Pippen. I just think your underestimating AI's talent, hes a good player. He's probally 5'10 a buck 65 and is dropping 28 a game, and maybe 5 or 6 dimes? He makes the people around him much better...Kenny Thomas was a bum on the Rockets, here in Philly hes turnt into a nice player. When Iverson drives he draws so much attention, and is either gettin to the line or dishin to the open man, I think this is his best ALL AROUND year of his career.
hey did you watch the bulls after jordan retired, the bulls did pretty good my friend. only bad thing on pippen was when he left the game with 1 sec left on the clock in the playoffs.

yeah, I'll agree that Kenny Thomas was never a bum. I think Iverson is a good defender but he doesn't have enough size to be a great defender. If he was even Jason Kidd's size, then he'd be just as good as Kidd in my opinion. I think the problem is that the Sixers management just doesn't make the right decisions when drafting or trading for players. There are too many players on the Sixers who kind of have that "washed up" tempo to their game- and the Sixers management continues to overpay these players. For instance just last year they pay Big Dog a huge amount of money and then they expect him to play defense. Big Dog has never played defense in his life so that was a waste of money. I do think Iverson is starting to mature as more of a leader and a team player. This year, I'm starting to see him pass a lot more if he's struggling with his shot. In years past, he would just keep jackin' up shots until they started to go in. I think you have to give the MVP to Duncan though since he is arguably the best player on the planet and goes to the Finals or deep into the playoffs every year. They really should just change the name from MVP to "Player having the best season" or something. Becasue you can make a case for any of the top players in the NBA right now for being valuable to their team. I just say pur KG, Duncan, and Shaq's names in a hat and just draw every year and see who gets it.

The thing i dont think people get is that that is the sixers offense. You think Jim Obrien is just sitting their watching Iverson hold the ball and not like it? That is how their offense "works." That is why they moved him to point and traded snow. That is what they wanted to work with. They wanted AI to have the ball A LOT more and set up the play and/or penetrate and dish. If it wsnt, you would hear a lot more coming out of philly about the coach being upset with his star player. The way AI is playing point is how they want him to play. I dont think people get that.

Re: Who's Your MVP? ('Bron or AI)

This sums up a lot: http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/spo...l/10668553.htm

There may be a day on the horizon when 76ers coach Jim O'Brien takes Allen Iverson out of the game for a breather. But it may not happen any time soon.

For the second time in the last three games, Iverson went all 48 minutes for the Sixers in their 95-91 victory yesterday over the New Orleans Hornets. He even stayed in the game after hurting his right hand and getting bumped again on his bruised collarbone on successive New Orleans possessions early in the third quarter.

"Over the last couple of games, we needed to get some momentum to our basketball team," O'Brien said. "As I've mentioned a couple of times, I have been dissatisfied with our production when Allen is off the court.

"In order to gain momentum, I need combinations on the court that I think give us the best chance of gaining momentum. When I think we're tracking or trending it the right way, then we'll go back to lessening his minutes."

As an example, O'Brien pointed to Saturday night's game in Detroit, which came 24 hours after Iverson played the entire game against Toronto without a break. He took Iverson out of the game with the Sixers trailing by three points in the second quarter.

"I rested him 21/2 minutes, and we were down 10," O'Brien said. "I don't like the way we look right now with Allen on the bench."

-This is from the head coach himself. Sure does say a lot about the supporting cast.

That doesn't mean it is working, though...but you're right. That is the offense.
