Re: Who's Your MVP? ('Bron or AI)

You have no idea of what you are talking about. No clue. Not a clue.

It's easy to get 7 assists? That's such an ignorant statement to have. If it were so easy to pack on assists, then every player in the NBA would be top in the NBA in assists.
You wanna know why it can be easy to average 7 assists? Look at Iverson's rookie year. He was the biggest ballhog in the world, yet he averaged 7.5 assists.

And about your comment of Iverson always having the ball in his hand- that's the definition of a point guard in basketball. The point guard has the ball in his hands almost on every play and he's the one who sets up the offense. Shooting at a low percentage should not be the deal breaker on what determines a good player. Iverson will never shoot a high percentage and people have to start accepting that. Kobe is shooting a very low percentage as well (40%), but that doesn't mean he's a bad player. That's normally what happens to players who have to take mostly all the shots and don't have much offensive help.
But Iverson doesn't play like a point guard...why? Because he is not a point guard. He plays the position because of his height. He doesn't run an offense, he goes on improvision and if he finds someone open while on his way to the basket, he'll pass the ball sometimes. He's been lucky that on this year's team, he has teammates who can actually hit a jumpshot in Korver, Williamson, Jackson, Green, Iguodala and so on.

As for shooting percentage...In the first place, he takes alot of bad shots because he is a scorer, first and foremost. Second, he's just flat out not a good shooter. Let's be real here. He can't shoot for sh*t. He used to have a somewhat consistent jumper when he had an amazing lift on his shot when he was still in tremendous shape. And as for Kobe, his percentage is low solely due to him becoming more of a scorer. The guy can flat out shoot. And he does have help.

P2K might be a huge fan of the Sixers. But the way he criticizes Iverson for not being the perfect basketball player tends to show that he might not be as huge of a fan as he wants to show. Iverson is the Sixers, and if you don't like him, it really doesn't show that you like the team. Similar to Jordan and the Bulls. If you didn't like Jordan as a basketball player and for all he did for the Bulls, then you're probably not much of a Bulls fan.

This is the biggest bunch of BS I've read in a while. You have some balls to say I am not a fan of the Sixers because of how I feel about Iverson. You are really talking out of your a** on this one.

I don't ask anyone to be perfect. Basketball players are ******* HUMAN. I criticize Iverson because he doesn't workout like he should. I criticize him for taking shots that he shouldn't take. I criticize him for the stupid sh*t he pulled last year, acting like he didn't want to play because things weren't going his way. I criticize him for not wanting to play because he wasn't a starter for one game when his coach was looking out for him. But I am also the same person that said he should make it to the Hall of Fame. I am also the same person that recognizes the guy has heart. He is one of the best scorers in history. Hell, I don't even get on him with the off-court stuff.

One thing I know is we cannot win with him on this team. If the Sixers could get players around Iverson...guys like Odom and so on. But with this team's cap situation, the only way to improve was for Billy King to trade Iverson. I'll stick by that. But I am not the GM. So we continue on.

And as for your ignorant a** statement...about because I don't like Iverson, I don't like the Sixers. What the hell are you talking about???

Just because I am not an Iverson nut huggin' butt squeezer like you are does not mean I love the Sixers any less. Get this through your head...Iverson is not bigger than the Sixers. Last time I checked, he didn't win an NBA title for my team. He didn't win SQUAT. I root for the uni, not the players in them. There are alot of fraudulent Sixer fans out there because they love Iverson and have no other interest in the team besides that. I cannot stand those people. He's done nothing for this city. What has he done for me? Nothing. Some excitement? Of course. That's all. Allen Iverson isn't my god or anything. He is not above criticism. Wilt is a god in this city. Doc is a god in this city. Not Allen Iverson.

And do not even try to compare Iverson to Jordan. If I lived in Chi-town, I would be on my hands and knees praising Michael Jordan for everything he has done. Iverson deserves nothing of the sort. To even say some dumb crap like that is so foolish. This is why I said I refused to argue with you because you have your head so far up your a**, it would be no use. But I typed this anyway.

You know nothing about the Sixers and Iverson like you profess to know. If you watched any type of Sixer game since Iverson has been here, you would know the following:He is not that much of a winner, he is not that much of a team player, he is nowhere near being a legit point guard in this league and he is just an ok defensive player.

I pretty much think we are done here.

Re: Who's Your MVP? ('Bron or AI)

I don't have anything far up my a**. What I'm saying is that a person is judged as being a team player when he leaves it all on the floor everynight for his team, passes the ball to his teammates, and has a passion to win and to help his team win. Iverson has all those qualities by A. Playing for a below .500 team even when hurt B. Being top 5 in assists in the NBA and C. Taking his team to the NBA Finals and winning the MVP trophy. Sorry he couldn't get you guys a championship, but it's kind of hard when you're facing the Lakers dynasty with Shaq and Kobe. Obviously Iverson isn't that great of a shooter, but with what he has he tries to do his best. I beleive the team can win with Iverson on it, you see what they did in 2001. The Sixers management just needs to stop being a bunch of idiots and stop wasting their money on worthless players and start getting quality players on the team. I'm sorry that I like Iverson and want to see him succeed. I guess that makes me a "nutt holding butt muncher" or whatever kind of immature garbage you're trying to throw at me. I don't mind you having an opinion of Iverson and the way he plays. What I do have a problem with is the sheer lack of respect you have for what he's done for the organization. If you haven't noticed, its not that easy for a team to make the Finals and win a championship. Not just one person can pull an entire team in order to win, its a team effort. What I'm saying is that you criticize him as though he's never done anything in his career. I know not winning a championship is the greatest dissapointment. And even though I don't see Iverson ever winning a championship unless he's around better talent, I still admire what he's done over the years and respect him as a basketball player. He's the perfect example of someone who might not have all the great physical gifts, but he works hard with what he has and that's all he can really do. I can find any player in the NBA and criticize them about something they should or shouldn't do. Michael Jordan, for instance, had an affair on his wife, gambled, and also slept around with other women. But we all still consider him the greatest basketball player that ever lived, and we praise him heavily. You think hogging a basketball is as bad as cheating on your wife? Wilt Chamberlain was a man-whore but we don't even think about that. We just think about the 100 points he scored in a game. I'm just saying to chill out and stop being on the defensive about everything. Iverson's not THAT bad of a player.

If you watched the Sixers this year, you would know that is not the truth as in years before.

I'm definately a fan of Iverson, I don't want you to feel that I'm jumping all over you because of your opinions P2K. I'm just saying he has the credentials to be considered a great player. There's nothing in any of my posts that would consider me as ignorant. I'm just explaining what I see when I watch every Sixers game. You definately can't fault Iverson this year on what he did in previous years, because he is trying his best to be a team player and leader on this team. I'm just saying give the guy a break.
