Embiid could easily win, especially if they finish first in the conference. But Bron and Joker aren’t in the mix solely because narratives.

Joker and Bron are ahead of him in a lot of all in one metrics currently. Backpicks BPM, 538s new RAPTOR rating, ahead in real plus minus, RPM wins, win shares, VORP..

Plus Bron has stuff like this that won’t show in any statistical metrics. Although these are a couple weeks old at this point. And games like the one the other night where he hit the 3 to send it to over time, the assists on the go ahead bucket, and a steal to win the game, those are the type of moments voters will remember when voting is close at year end. Shows up nowhere in a stat, but it’s plays that win games and naturally guys like Bron, KD, Kawhi, etc just rack up more of those than big men typically do.

I still think from day 1 - now Joker has had the best resume for MVP. I don’t know that their record will be good enough for him to get it, and he’s always going to lose a few votes from those who view him as a negative on defense.

Realistically throw in Giannis, KD, maybe even Harden if he keeps his play up and you’ve got quite a few guys right in the mix this year IMO. Joel has a really good shot, probably not if the Bucks end up passing them though because Giannis’s numbers are starting to normalize closer to where they were last year. Bron likely makes or breaks his case with how well he and the team do with AD out. If AD misses a month of action and the Lakers don’t fall out of that top 3 in the West positioning and Bron’s numbers go up in that same time span, he’s going to have a pretty good argument at that point himself.

Rewatching some of this Warriors/Magic game and after seeing some highlights, Vucevic destroyed them man.

So Words of wisdom for LAC. Don't let Mitchell get another good look lol.

                    That was well defended.

Tough as hell to win two straight in LA in three nights

I'm just glad we took it to the wire with PG and Kawhi back. We didn't win but I think we could've if one or two things go our way. Great game, if we hadn't beat them with Kawhi and PG at the start of the year I'd be a little concerned lol

People who still fuss over them are weird. They’ve been the same for 20 years. They’re like the Barber Shop of NBA Highlights. You don’t talk advanced stats while in there(shoutout KD), you BS and crack jokes about guys and occasionally say things that don’t make sense, lol.

I’m going to assume LaVine takes it and I can see Vucevic challenging Sabonis for the reserve big man spot.

Personally I would probably vote Harden, Brown, Tatum, Middleton, Randle, Simmons, Vucevic. Which leaves Trae, LaVine, Sabonis as “snubs”.
Yeah, I'll be honest the East is a logjam. I think a few years ago, Tobias Harris would have been a shoo in, now he's barely even considered despite doing 20 ppg on 52% from the field. I can agree with all your choices here with the exception of Simmons. I know he's elite defensively, but I just have such a hard time buying into his offensive game and think that a lot of his numbers come solely from transition or putbacks. Siakam is finally hitting his stride as of lately, if you wanted to go recency bias here, that would be a great pick imo

                                West to me would be

Dame, Mitchell, AD, Gobert, PG, Conley, Booker.

Booker is a bit of regency bias, past few games he’s been hitting 30 a night looking like bubble Booker. Phoenix is rolling as of late and if I hadn’t already given the nod to Conley for backup PG I think you could make the case for CP3 here as well.

Conley’s stats aren’t overly eye popping but no doubt he’s one of the most important pieces to his team in the league. No surprise he’s the Jazz’s leader in On-Off splits, he runs the show for the best team in the league.

Could see CP3, Fox, Zion replacing AD. Zion would make the most sense position wise.

I'm still not sure how you can make an ASG case for Conley given his stat line. Yeah, he's a key contributor on a team that has the best record in the conference, but there's only so many pieces of the pie to go around in terms of reserve roster spots. Seems like we mostly agree outside of that
