Is this SAC-DAL game pissing anyone else off?

I understand that the league wants to appease fans by having higher scoring games, and wide open basketball, and I definitely like wide open basketball IN SPURTS. But this game has just been a horrible display of defense, it is almost sickening to watch. People going from the 3pt line to the basket without getting turned at least once is just garbage. Football is different because different players play on offense or defense, but in basketball, it just seems like one half of the game just doesn't matter to them. What's even worse is that this horrible defense is praised now. I do have to give a little bit of credit to the announcers though, at least they are pointing out that while entertaining, this isn't good, COMPLETE basketball.

Actually watch one of those classic games in ESPN and tonite's game is pretty similar to how the game was played back in the 70's and 80's. I'm nostalgic as they come but when I see those old games I'm shocked at how little defense was actually played. No wonder shooting percentages were higher. It's the exact same for hockey too.

No man guys could shoot back in the 80's... all of em could shoot players 1-13. I doubt lots of these guys would have made it in the league back then.

I'm actually enjoying the game. I like it when Sacramento's young guys come on, Maurice Evans and Matt Barnes, because I wish a lot of other teams could bring in those two very good bench players that give a lot of energy. That's the thing I'm pulling out of this game for the most part.

I'm actually enjoying the game. I like it when Sacramento's young guys come on, Maurice Evans and Matt Barnes, because I wish a lot of other teams could bring in those two very good bench players that give a lot of energy. That's the thing I'm pulling out of this game for the most part.

They could shoot because they were consistently getting wide open uncontested looks. Actually I could say the same about players back in the 80's would get eaten alive in today's game. Could you really see Kareem and McHale being nearly as effective in today's NBA. They would get banged up in the paint like rag dolls. It's like every other sport out there, the players are bigger, faster and stronger. If you pitted the Pistons of today against the Celtics of the 80's the Pistons would crush them.
