Nuggets could easily knock the Lakers out in round 1 if LeBron and AD aren't looking 100% come playoff time. That's going to be a short window for LeBron to work through all his "feel out" games and get back to form, AD this year didn't even look great before the injury and I have no idea if he has that "flip the switch" come playoff time mentality or not considering last year he looked like an MVP level guy most of the season.
Regardless the Lakers need somebody on the team to do what KCP did last year and just be a steady consistent guy. Can't have the whole roster outside of 2 players being so wildly inconsistent with Rondo gone. Guys don't have to be great, just steady.
Frank has done a great job defensively with the team both years but his offensive approach is average at best and he treats his line-ups like he's absolutely terrified of having a mediocre defensive unit on the floor but with the hopes of out-gunning the other team... I know they have had injuries but the whole only using Harrell as a backup 5 instead of trying to give him minutes alongside Gasol or Drummond, and going so many games not starting Kuz was so annoying to watch. Yes you want a decent scoring punch off the bench, and you want balanced line-ups and rotations but at some point you also need to score. Never was he using Schroder, Kuz, Harrell, Drummond all on the floor together, 4 guys who can get you 20 any night and would be tough for defenses to focus on any one of them. It's like he's content with every player on the floor being easier to guard for the ever so slight upgrade to his defense and rotation patterns.
