Does anyone remember the trade details leading up to Kyrie forcing a trade from the Cavs to the Celtics?

The only story I ever heard was that he did not want to be LeBron's shadow.

IIRC Kyrie also threatened to have surgery done on his knee if he wasn't traded which would have caused him to miss the season.

Y’all remember the Lamar Odom/Chris Paul situation that happened when the Lakers tried to acquire Paul.

That’s probably the closest comparison to this.

See I always mix up Kyrie trade details with Kawhi trade details. It was the whole knee thing.

I can't remember if it was Kawhi or Kyrie trade. But who was it that had the trade request leak out after talking to Management.

All this **** is nuts overall. I'm just happy the season is starting tonight. I just want to see ball right now [emoji38]

I want Simmons on the court. I hate seeing players waste their talent away by being *******s.

Are the Sixers blameless? Absolutely not.

Doc should not have said what he said. I get it, it was an emotional time directly after a playoff elimination. He was being honest at that particular time, but that is **** that needs worked out behind closed doors.

Embiid? Nah, he can keep talking. He is hilarious.

But Simmons. Buck the **** up and do what you signed up for. If you had such a problem with what was said, sit that person down and have a legit one-on-one conversation with them about it. Get the "**** yous" and the "That was ****ed up and hurt" out. Proving your point would be going out and putting on a show to prove that Doc was wrong.

I get it, he is still "young", but he is letting his inner circle **** him up right now. But I blame his inner circle to try and give him the benefit of the doubt. Should I? Probably not. But I try and always keep a little hope.. something as a Sixers, Vikings, and Penn State fan is always going to lead to heart break. L

At this point, I want Morey to continue to be petty. Let his contract sit until it is up. #ProcessPartTwo(reallylikePartSeven).

                  Meh.

This is one player and the issue has spilled over since last year’s playoffs.

Morey could’ve easily prevented this situation.

League has as much interest as it’s ever had starting a new season.

If Jimmy Butler was still in Philly. Oh man. He might of choked out Ben.

Part of me wants say good for him, but the other part wants to say I hope he knows that the loyalty doesn't go both ways. Portland wouldn't just keep him around based on loyalty, or because it's the right thing to do. I feel like we are passed the point of seeing player mobility as some sort of bad thing. You could argue that it's on steroids right now, but player freedom is just a necessary step in evening out the power dynamic a little more.

Is it at all possible that Philly’s stance here is being influenced by the league office or other owners as they cannot possibly want the precedent set that someone on a max deal making $30+ mil a year with 4 years left on the deal can’t be allowed to just tantrum their way out of town for scraps to the team trading them?

I mean there's storied players over many decades who've held out of contracts, didn't go to the team that drafted them, held out of training camp, etc. So I don't really see it as being sorta the modern day issue many people are painting it to be."

That escalated quickly! I'm here for all the drama. Lol. I cant lie though, I like the 76ers and Embiid holding a line with Simmons. I remember when Simmons was at LSU and how nonchalant and flippant he was about the whole thing. Dude didnt even pretend to care about anything other than doing his time before the draft. When Brett Brown was coach he said he wanted Simmons to shoot more and Ben just put the kibosh on it, like F the coach. It just seems like Ben has never been held accountable as a pro and until now.

People don’t pay attention to the NBA until Christmas.

With Ben, Kyrie and player movement more people are talking about the NBA at the start of the season than it has in ages. People who don’t even follow basketball like that are interested in what’s going on.
