He’d be a good fit with the Clippers especially since Kawhi will be out.

Lazy “reporting”. What team wouldn’t be enamored either him? Lol

I’d be enamored with a million dollars right now but if I dig in my pockets, all I’ll pull out is a pocket full of lint, lol

Straight up? They could probably get more out of that if that was the route they wanted to take

Nah I mean get some kind of package deal but Wiggins in Canada would be cool for the country.

No idea what a team like the Clippers could even offer. I think they are worse off with their pick situation than even the Lakers were after the PG trade. That was 2 years ago so maybe something down the line has opened up since.

Problem with the Clippers is there isn’t much of a combination of decent young pieces or high enough salary. Ibaka is 32, Morris 32, Pat Bev 33. That’s all their bigger tradable money and that’s not going to get them back a young All-Star. Maybe there is something that could be done around Zubac, Kennard, and Mann? I know Mann had a couple of good playoff games, but even that feels like if you’re best player in return is Zubac you’re probably not trading Siakam. Clippers would also be left with giant holes at center and shooting guard and would still require them to attach someone else for salary.

Feel like Golden State could get him pretty easily if they wanted. Especially if he asked to be traded. Wiggins honestly was close to outplaying him last year by seasons end, and if he alone wasn’t enough to get a deal done I don’t think it would take much paired with him. He’s a year younger as well. Wiggins and a first, or Wiggins + Kuminga. Golden State even has enough young pieces + picks to center a deal around Green’s contract. Not that they would, but they could play the long game here and get a bit younger. Green, Kuminga, a couple of firsts.. they could possibly ride this Curry train out a bit longer with both Siakam and Wiggins. It’s crazy he’s already 33.

Sacramento obviously has pieces. If I were Toronto I would take Barnes and Bagley, but I still think Bagley can be a stud and Toronto is headed towards rebuild territory. I don’t think many teams would trade out a player with Bagley’s upside for a guy that looks like he’s probably going to peak as a 3rd option guy. A straight up swap for Fox wouldn’t be horrible for the Kings either. They have Haliburton and drafted Mitchell in this years draft, they are pretty much set at the guard spot. Any thing Toronto could get in addition to either of those would be a bonus IMO.

Regardless I think Siakam’s best role is going to be the type of role with the championship team. Where he’s a 3rd guy or just in the mix with your other top 2 or 3 guys. He’s not some franchise piece, and if Toronto gets stingy and holds out for a Beal/Dame level package for him they are likely shooting themselves in the foot for the future. If they can get good value for him now then I think they should. Another injury to him, or another year of them being a bottom tier team and that value is just going to drop. Adding Precious to grow with Barnes and OG was a good first step, now they need to go a step further.

If it were me, I'd just keep Siakam. Sounds like Siakam wants to stay as well so that makes it easy.

Toronto is in an interesting position though where they have a lot of youth and a lot of talent. They're a swing team to me where they can justify going all in if a star becomes available or they can justify trading someone like Siakam to get even younger.

Like I said before, Siakam isn't demanding a trade, and Raptors don't need to move him.

So if a team does want him, they better be prepared to overpay to get him. This isn't like those other trades where an all star wants out and the team basically has to trade him, so they just accept the best offer. Raptors can easily just walk away from the best offer and go into the season with him no problem.

The Lowry trade deadline was proof of it too from the Raptors side. They didnt just deal him for the best offer. They saw more value in keeping him for the final bunch of games in the season over just accepting any offer. And in the end they basically got the same deal as the deadline offers they received, although in this case they had to accept it since it was a S&T, so the Raptors didnt get impacted by the holdout, but the teams who made an offer, he might have tipped the scale (not for the Heat since they did get swept, but don't tell me the 76ers wouldn't have beaten the Hawks, or Lakers beaten the Suns, if Lowry was added to that roster)

Although Dragic still reiterates that Toronto isn't his preferred destination. I wonder how long until they manage to deal him.

As a Raptors fan why would you not want to trade him now though? I feel like his value will only go down, and unless Barnes is a massive hit you’re looking like a first round exit team.

He's 27 with 3 more years left on his deal. There's no urgency to deal him.

Not saying the Raptors need to keep him because they think they'll contend in the east, but they don't need to deal him unless they're getting some major pieces back.

If he was on an expiring deal, then for sure I'd look at dealing him asap.

Yeah with 3 years left I don’t see why you would deal him if you didn’t have to, but it does raise an interesting question for Raptors brass. Seems like he took a step back last year from the previous year strictly speaking from an outsider perspective who doesn’t watch the team closesly. Do you look at how he bounces back this season before further committing to him or really explore moving him now while you can command a ton for him?

The Warriors likely. You can get Wiggins and some picks out of them probably. A guy with 3 years of team control on them can fetch a higher price.
