Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread

I’ve been saying for like 4 years now how anybody could want a player other than LeBron or KD come playoff time doesn’t make sense to me. Randomly picking some other dude because LeBron was hurt and missed the playoffs, and KD was hurt in the finals was so silly to me. Or picking guys who clearly can maintain their play come post season time for whatever reason.

If Bron and KD are healthy in the playoffs with a healthy squad around them nobody else is better. I will say, Joker is getting to the point that he’s making a case to add his name there too.

He doesn't need a 3 pointer. He just needs a med game.

Buds got a lot of work ahead of him. Tonight they tried a 2-3 zone and like I said many times. That's a sign of game over. And the Nets were ready. Bud might have to sit Brook Lopez. Or some sort of small line up. Because this drop defense they play is being eaten up.

It would be an improvement from Giannis if he adopted Simmons' shot selection IMO. He's a much, much better shooter than Simmons though.

Glad I couldn't watch tonight. They say a series doesn't start until the home team loses a game though, so it looks like it won't start until we lose this next game.

LOL that was established like 3 years ago.

I picked Bucks in 6 and now I look like a foo...Middleton stinks, Bud is lost, Cannington looks like Jamie from Progressive, Holiday doesn't excel at anything and Tucker doesn't intimidate anyone waving his hands and feet fast all over the place.

Since that 1st quarter in Game 1, Nets Defense has been on point, in addition to their Offense.

Yall honestly are worse than the Twitter casuals right now. Not much Giannis can do when his team turns into a bunch of overrated has-beens in the playoffs. Its the same thing every year, Giannis dominates and then once the playoffs hit every team focuses only on him because his teammates are irrelevant. Easy to say KD is the best in the world when the opposition has to focus on Kyrie, Joe Harris, and even Blake Griffin.

Brook is old and slow af, forced to pack the paint and abuse the D 3 seconds while you can just put a stretch big at the top of the arc and feast.

PJ is also old af and a shell of his former self.

Jrue is as much of a liability from 3 as Eric Bledsoe and cant stick with Kyrie.

Middleton is an overpaid dumpster that turns into a brick house as soon as he faces any halfway decent opposition.

Giving Giannis a bunch of shooters is irrelevant when those shooters cant hit at least league average. Give him Kyrie and Joe Harris as teammates and he probably looks like an alien.

What's hilariously bad for the rest of the NBA is the Nets still have Harden, Jeff Green, and Spencer Dinwiddie on the sidelines. All you can do is laugh...

No, he's a more aggressive (offensively) Kevin Garnett but the best comp is David Robinson. And unfortunately, he's proving that much like big Dave, he can be schemed against and his "pet moves" taken away.

It would also help if he'd stop chucking up three - point shots, screen more, develop a "go - to - move" and counters.

Crazy that he's still elite even with all those offensive deficiencies.

He might need to pull a Durant/Anthony Davis and link up with another superstar to get over the title hump.

Still, it's only 0 - 2 and I know better to call a series over after just two games (see: Spurs vs. Lakers 2004 WCSF or Spurs vs. Pistons 2005 NBA Finals). Even with two lopsided victories by the higher seed.

It attacks the Bucks drop defense on pick and rolls. Lopez is never going to get out on Bruce Brown.
