We're done here. The Lakers had meetings and were into that free agency period looking to sign a star, but okay.

No, I’m telling you LeBron never wanted to do anything but go back to Cleveland and there was never a possibility of him signing with the Lakers lol.

Not true. No good player will ever want to go there and they haven’t since Shaq. If you say otherwise you’re just saying stuff that’s doesn’t make sense.

The Lakers will be fine. LA is an attractive destination for guys wanting to be mega-stars. The Kobe days were a unique case because of Mamba mentality. It has its perks obviously, but guys aren't going to jump in line to be his teammate especially when his reign corresponded with a shift in the mentality of NBA players. Lakers probably won't do it because they want superstars but after LeBron leaves I'd strongly consider trading AD for multiple assets, then use the LeBron cap space to sign a FA. Joker maybe?

Cavaliers recovered from the LeBron era because of hitting homeruns in multiple drafts. Thats incredibly rare. Any post-Lebron rough days isn't unique to LeBron though. Virtually every team goes through that after their window closes. How long did it take for the Bulls to recover from the post-Jordan drought? Thunder are still recovering from their breakup and they didn't even get a title out of it.

Just look at the Knicks since the Ewing trade, nearly 20 years of ineptitude. They had that one 54-win season in 2012-13, but it was fool's gold.

Going from being under .500 for 6 years straight …including that 17 win season…to a championship….I think the Lakers will recover just fine from all the supposed scorched earth they’re going to be left with.

They unfortunately always find their way back around

Knicks-Lakers-Raptors in talks with a trade that would send Burks and Reddish to LAL, Dragic and draft compensation to the Knicks, THT and Nerlens Noel to the Raptors. There is a chance Nunn could be involved as talks continue.

Seems like a no brainer for Toronto, stupid for New York, and a wash for the Lakers but gets them a young player with promise.

So is the lack of apparent interest in Russ due to salary or just apathy against whether he can actually positively affect a team anymore.

Just for the hell of it, straight swap for Russ and Harden. That could only go well.

Every single time they got a good young core they blow it up and trade them all away.

Kuzma, D'angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo....

The Lakers front office just like their fans are impatient.

Wojo and Windy throwing low key jabs at each other over reporting the Harden situation has been funny to watch.

THT was one of the guys they wanted for Lowry last year but I think LA said no, so that'll be something if they still manage to get him as part of the trade tree.

Noel in NY hasn't been as good, but hopefully he turns things around again, and will help out defensively for sure.

Watching Morey negotiate thru the media in this has just been amazing to see.

Seeing Woj, Windy and the Philly Media going at it is more hilarious. Meanwhile, Shams* is just waiting in the cut waiting to drop something.

*Is Shams still reliable to folks or is he pretty much in Broussard territory after that Kyrie article back in December?
