2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
I don’t think it’s the coverage but outside of when they fired Kenny, you don’t hear of too many leaks coming from the Nets, at least since Marks has been there. Billy King was a different story because he was always leaking **** to the locals on a regular basis.
Which makes all this coming out now more surprising, especially since it’s coming from us.
Plus like y’all always claim, nobody cares about the Nets.#RespectTheCultureComment

I'm at work, but will still tune into both if possible. I do really hope this works out for both sides.
While definitely isn't a good look, it isn't shocking for Harden. It's something I'll be concerned with, especially since Morey will allow him similar privileges as with Houston. But, Joel is definitely the one who will publicly out Harden if it becomes an issuePSN ID - A_Dubya13Comment

Re: 2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
I missed it because I was at work too. Was there a brief synopsis of what Harden was saying? I am kind of hesitant to get excited about him there, because he’s shown in the past that he’s not that guy in the playofffs. I just hope he doesn’t ruin a great season from Embiid with all his antics and such.
James didn't want to discuss the Brooklyn exit. Both extra were "mutual". Philly was "his original first choice" . Kyrie impact was "minimal", but it impacted the team. Then later saying he wanted to be around guys who wanted to win and do whatever it takes. It was a collaborative effort to keep him out until after All Star Break. He feels he can win a championship and he wants to add to what the team already does.Comment

I did giggle when he said he wanted to be around guys that wanted to win.
Anyway, I can definitely see already how the tide slowly starting to turn on Harden. Seems like people are more optimistic about him now compared when he first arrived in BK when it was all jokes and Dribble Bros memes.
Could be wrong about that last one but it does feel that way.#RespectTheCultureComment

The combination of Ben hate + Kyrie hate has somehow turned Harden into a hero after being the most despised player on Reddit for years so you’re not wrong.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
Idiots don’t know/care to separate the two.
I know it’ll be real when I see folks start doing Mental Gymnastics to justify his baiting of the officials into foul calls/FTs.
“He’s not getting enough calls and it’s not fair! He gets treated with the least amount of respect out of all star players!”Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 02-16-2022, 09:32 AM.#RespectTheCultureComment

I also believe many assume the Morey/Tad Brown connection will have an impact on Harden. They know how to "manage" him. But most of that stuff won't fly when it isn't his team. I guess the hope is that he learns from all this stuff. As I said before, I didn't really want him last year. When it seemed like it was going to definitely happen last year, I was trying to talk myself into it. Who's to say we wouldn't be in the same situation as Brooklyn if we traded for him last year.
I guess the hope is that we get motivated PG Harden. Pre-Harden, we needed Joel to score 30+ to win games. It was usually Joel with 30+, Tobias with 16-22, Maxey with 12-16, Seth with 12-16, then not much else from the others. The hope is that teams are going to have to pick and choose when to double team Joel.
Nice sure how ready I am to see Harden and Joel average a combined 20+ FTs a night
. As someone who works early and has a toddler, I enjoy our 7pm/7:30p games ending around 9:15/9:45. So now, we'll have Joel, Harden, and Tobias complaining EVERY time they think they should get a call.Comment

Re: 2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline
The one thing that I find funniest of all is how before the trade, the media was all about "making fun of" Ben's "mental health", but now all of a sudden it is off-limits and "no one knows but him."
Love the media.
I have not seen a bigger twist than when we glorified big hits in the NFL on "Jacked Up" to acting like we care about the players.

I don’t think there was a good time to bring it up unless he could’ve spoken about it years ago. When you talk about mental health issues and times are good, it’s inspirational. When times are bad, a lot of people will take it as an excuse. It is what it is, it was always going to go this way IMO.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

The way things are, people will sympathize with you partially based on your likeability.
Simon Biles flames out in the Olympics and cites her mental health. Garners mostly sympathy.
Ben flames out in the playoffs and then months later (at the start of training camp) cites his mental health. Garners mostly skepticism.Comment
