Stanley Johnson really try to secure a full time roster spot with the defense he’s been playing

The LeBron at center has allowed them to have a plus defense by playing Bradley and Johnson alongside him. Think they’ve had a top 5 defense since that move and in theory it should only climb if they can implement Davis. Monk has been crucial to them offensively since they switch. If not for him a lineup that had Westbrook, AB, and Johnson starting and playing big minutes would be a spacing/shooting disaster.

Trae got the best floater in the NBA, and Ariza has traveled about 5 times now with no call lol.

I don't care what kind of illegal stuff we have to do as far as paying him under the table, we have to find a way to keep Monk beyond this year.

I think a player like him is fairly easily replaceable because he doesn’t really make any advanced plays, or great defense, etc. Guys who can shoot/score when given the touches are all over the league. That said he’s had great chemistry with Bron, Russ, Melo over this stretch and sometimes that chemistry is the best trait to have.

I’d like to see if this continues though. If he can continue this all season long then all the other singings that just flat out aren’t working don’t look nearly as bad. I still think guys like THT and Reaves are better all-around guys, but they haven’t been able to string together consistent scoring like Monk for sure.

I’m intrigued to see where Nunn fits. If he’s not a strong fit and THT continues to be streaky, and Monk continues to be a 20 a night threat I could easily see them trying to do a THT, Nunn, DJ for one guy type of swap to try and add that final piece and open a buyout spot and sign Johnson for the rest of the year.

Bron with the lobs, threes, post ups, fades, back cuts, strips, blocks, steals.. Just ****ing does it all. Not sure he’s had his hand in so many areas of the game since those Miami years. Then again he hasn’t really needed to until now.

I have to laugh because some folks on a Lakers board yesterday was saying, "watch a lot of people say that Monk is easily replaceable".

So many players over the years have come to Lakers and fallen apart when it comes to outside shooting, they couldn't handle the spotlight. If we've found someone who can, then he's a more valuable commodity than just looking a others players who have a similar profile.

And you never know if it's a float or a Lob. It's a real staple of his game.

100%, it seems the pressure of having to produce or the spotlight factor isn’t bothering him. Opposite even as it feels like he’s thriving because of it. With that said you still need to see if that is even maintainable. He’s basically doubled his production from what it was the first couple months of the season and he won’t keep shooting over 50% from three most likely.

Right on cue with that nasty put back.

The Hawks need to get some defensive stoppers at the trade deadline. They play no defense.

Lebron has been incredible. I don't know if he's ever played this engaged this long. He knows he has to be at another level to even get this team to the playoffs.

Imagine if AD could match that intensity.
