1/11 - 1/24 Games Discussion Thread

Try being a Cavs and Panthers fan. Normally my appetite for sports is over before Thanksgiving.

I’m probably the only dude from the greater Cleveland area who doesn’t hate Art Modell because thanks to him I didn’t have a local football team.

If you know me…. I love sports. Drives my wife nuts. Because there is always a game on. But as VDusen knows I’ve been closely following Cade.

Meh, upon first glance I thought it seemed like a classic taunting tech. You haven't been able to point right up in someone's face after dunking on them since, like 1993.



As it turns out, he may have been trying to point to his people behind the bench but in live action and replays, I thought it looked like he was taunting Jalen so I get it. It just so happens he already had a technical to his name so this led to his departure.

Agree… in the moment. I was like dude!… that’s tech even if your LeBron. I thought it was weird for a player like him to do that. He’s usually such a chill dude. In all his personality reports were damn consistent. But his story does sound consistent. Just got to be smarter there. I thought they still had chance (even though they were down 19/20 points). I thought I was going to see an ultimate rookie vs vet duel between him and Booker.

Oh well…. But he’s got my stamp for rookie of the year. I thought Barnes was a lock. Mobley has made huge strides the last month (zero doubt he’s the reason Cavs are playing so well). But if Cade keeps playing like this. He’s my guy.

Drives my girl crazy too lmao. She's a Chicago fan. Bulls Cubs bears etc. But she doesn't understand why I watch teams that I'm not necessarily a fan of. I watch just about everybody like you.

As far as my ROY. It's Mobley for me. Barnes a very close second. Cade is definitely in the running if he finishes like the way he's been playing.

But how about how Giddey? He's a stat stuffer. His shooting is improving. I like him alot. OKC found another guy that flirts with a trip dub and turns the ball over far less.

Oh I love Josh "You getting me" Giddey! He's number 4 on my list. Another rookie on the move as of late is Kum Bucket been playing really well.

Wouldn't take Wagner out of the mix completely. Think he was number 1 in the rookie ladder 2-3 weeks in a row before Mobley and Cade passing him back just a few days ago. Think they dropped him to 4th after that slide.

Orlando is terrible whether he's on the floor or not but his on-off of +8.5 is pretty strong for a first year guy. He's dropped back to the norm lately but put up 20ppg through December. He'll likely have to get back to those numbers to make a push though.

I feel like Cade ultimately gets it. He'll likely close this year out with strong numbers as Detroit will be awful I'm assuming.

Yea Wagner belongs but I'm not sure he'll get much consideration. So I didn't mention him.

Defense has been a little sloppy for the Cavs. A lot of over help and nobody seems to know how to deal with Blake.

You know who is having a great game though, in a battle of former and future Cavs champion point guards.

With the Cavs playing the Nets, 76ers getting blown out and the Bulls currently down to the Grizzlies, if the Cavs can win here there is a crazy pathway that could see them lead the East before the ASB. One win behind the 1st seed but 2.5 back based on losses.

LOL. My girl isn’t a sports fan at all, so I can’t discuss anything with her. She’s Canadian, yet doesn’t watch hockey, so I can’t even talk Preds stuff or tease her about her home team losing. It’s strange because some of her friends are Senators fans.
