A healthy Raptors team is good, at least their starters are. Imagine if they had an actual big man and even a bench instead of playing 6.5 guys a game.

Easy remaining strength of schedule and fans returning in a few weeks, I wonder how they'll finish this season.

Beating the Bulls and Heat this week is a nice feat.

17-10 the last 2 months for this team.

People in Toronto - everyone wearing a mask.

People in Atlanta - maybe 30% of people wearing a mask.

Why am I not surprised at all….

Lavine missed a chippy layup too in OT. I’m still not sure how he blew that one.

Going armchair coach here but I have no idea how Ariza gets minutes. Even Bazemore, who admittedly has been equally awful, can at least move lol.

I know Bazemore was awful when he was getting minutes early but players have slumps. His 3pt% has normalized a bit as he's back up to about 37% on the year. Think it's time for Frank to see how he looks with another shot. He was a day 1 starter because out of all the AB, Monk, Ellington, Ariza guys they added he had the best combination of size/length, defense, and shooting of them all.. He started off the year shooting threes like he was Shaq lol but that seems to have passed.

Yeah it surprises me the amount of times they have the win money by making shots games and it looks like neither person has shot a basketball in their life.

Also I'm slowing developing a conspiracy theory regarding the mini youth games we often see at halftime. Its always a mismatch lol

I agree. I think they could be a shrewd trade away from being a sleeper team to make noise in the playoffs. I like their versatility on defense. They're one of the best teams at having the ability to switch everything which makes defense so much easier.
Course it will be matchup dependent. Against the Bulls or Heat I'd like their chance for an upset but not so against the 76ers.

I was asleep when the reserves were announced but even though it was expected how great for Darius!

Unfortunately I kinda think JA played himself out of it the last couple weeks. He hasn’t been great recently and in a couple of pretty bad losses recently he just hasn’t been there.

Hahahaha I've been trying to document some of it here. My wife and I have really been getting into the shows. Like who **** learns they can hold weird objects on their chin? The other day there was a wheel guy. The most powerfully one was in Detroit. They had this poet with with dancers, sax player and images. That was super cool.

I was with you until you said Ja was a little off. Did you watch that Knick game the other day. He only had 23. But ****.... He's an All Star. He gets the attention from the defense.

But back to entertainment for a second. I experienced the craziest thing. The best halftime show in the NBA hands down in Red Panda. She's been doing it for years. Players come out on the floor and stop their shot around to watch her. I watched her fail at her last show. I was shocked!PXL_20220122_042154243._exported_stabilized_1643971357913.jpg

Also Davion Mitchell.... Lockup Kyrie and James Harden one night to having to face a different type of guards another night lol.

Different when you have to chase those mother ****ers around all night. In comparison to knowing exactly where their going to be (iso) lol

Part of me gets trying to add a longer defender after all they lost last year and already hitting on some "shooters" in free agency... But it's just a bad fit. And his injury likely didn't help either. Now he's old and on top of being old was injured and never got his legs under him.

He was starting games just last year for Miami, even having some good games at that, so I get it to an extent because who else were they getting at that point anyways? But another red flag was Miami tried to upgrade from him to PJ and Morris, which I also don't understand why LAL wouldn't just keep Morris for that role..

But now it's just a bad fit and what I don't get is how he still is playing months later. He's the same position/role basically as LeBron and Melo, and when you want to play him "small" on the wing both THT and Bazemore are more mobile options. Same goes for Johnson That's where I get lost. None of those guys have played well at all this year, but of them all he's realistically the worst fit because he can't stay in front of anybody on the wings. I get there is maybe a "length" aspect but both Bazemore and THT have 7'+ wingspans too. They might not be as tall but LAL is not sacrificing length where it matters by playing either of them over Ariza.

And what sucks about it most of all is THT can actually be a big piece for them. But he's got to work his way out of this awful slump, get some confidence. That won't happen giving some of his minutes away and it just makes more sense to live with his awful play knowing it can improve rather than live with Ariza's awful play knowing he should be retired.

Same for Bazemore, he went through that horrendous shooting slump in November and just lost his spot. But I still remember on night 1 he guarded Steph all night long and did a great job. Which is exactly the type of role they have been missing/needing all season long. And his shooting as normalized a bit, back to 35% on the year from deep. But instead of seeing how he looks with more minutes again now that they are getting healthier they are trying to find a trade partner where he can play more.. Doesn't make sense to me.
