I've been working too much. But damn Luka was catching bodies last night.

Weird stat I just came across.

3 of the top 4 teams in clutch situations are the Suns, Grizzlies and Warriors, no surprise there.

The team that's also in that group, the Wizards who are 19-9 in games ending in clutch situations.

I’ve seen enough of Ja to say he goes number 1 in a re-draft of 2019, followed by Zion and Darius. I love watching Ja play, I don’t think the DRose comparisons are unfair either.

I would too, but I imagine that there are still a lot of folks who would still take Zion. My memory is fuzzy but I think that even back then I said that I would take Ja first.

Bron is back tonight, I think that for the rest of his career he need to do more layups and easy dunks, and save all chase downs for late 4th quarter close games or the playoffs.

Personally I don’t like them because I don’t think they really play all that similar. They both have a unique ability to get off and finish awkward off-balance plays at the rim using tons of bounce and hang time, but that’s about the only similarity they have IMO. Ja plays with vastly better pace control and patience, especially in the half court, and just has more spots he hurts you from with his shot developing to where it has. As athletic as he is he doesn’t quite have a D Rose gear and though I think he plays with better patience he can’t create the same openings at times that Rose could be attacking the way he did. Rose could just warp himself to the rim when it didn’t even look open.

Ja actually plays a bit more like D-Rose now but with closer to young D-Rose athleticism. I actually think Ja has been just a tad better, at worst equally as productive anyways. Memphis isn’t the best defensive team in the league, in the worst division ever, winning 65 games or whatever it was, so most aren’t giving him that level of recognition. Plus there’s just no narrative. No home town kid, the “good guy” to LeBron needing to be a villain, etc..

                  Per 75 Ja: 29/7/6 1.4 stl, 59 TS%
                  Per 75 Rose: 27/8/4 1.1 stl, 55 TS%

Pretty similar statistical output, Ja shoots better overall, from 2, and from three, he finishes slightly better at the rim and in that floater area (but the league is different to a degree) while Rose has a better midrange pull-up and better at the long twos, Ja has been better from 3.. Ja slightly higher PER, Rose slightly better BPM.

Really hoping Memphis gets a decent first round matchup and aren’t stuck with the Lakers (though I would love to be able to go watch that live) just so we can see Ja get a bigger playoff sample. Last year in his first ever playoff showing he looked as good if not slightly better than Rose in any playoff run. But we need a bigger sample size than 5 games. For an attacking guard to do it against Rudy and the league top defense with that level of success was special too. It just feels like he’s another one of those guys who doesn’t get sped up easily, and thinks the game at a level ahead of most. Draymond echoed those thoughts recently as well, basically saying he’s the young guy that most reminds him of Bron, CP3, Rondo as far as his mental approach. It’s tough to bait him into shots he doesn’t want to take and plays he doesn’t want to make.

Come on now. You know you don't want to know.

It's only year 3-4. Ja could tear some thing. And everyone will be running back to Zion. I hate re drafts this early. Do one in 10 years. Zion was already a All Star already. He's hurt right now. So yeah good time to kick him while he's down. I get it. It's just makes zero sense. You have no clue how is going to turn out.

Random but why is Spike sitting next to the Lakers’ bench and not the Knicks?

(Yes, I know he can sit where he wants, it’s just an observation)

Westbrook’s go to bank shot has been so bad this year. It feels like more often than not he’s not even hitting the rim.
