Re: 2/8 - 2/17 Games Discussion Thread
Fully aware lol. If he didn't like carrying a team, there always going to be chance that happens here. Joel is always a wrong landing away from being injured.
Same with Ben lol. Philly fans aren't the only ones who's going to boo. Teams are going to Hack-a-Ben until he shows he can make FTs. Pressure is higher there than in Philly because Nets are still "favored"
As you probably are, I'm just glad it's over withComment

God help Ben if he hasn't worked on his shooting and he's gotta be depended on to shoot some big free throws down the stretch. That NY media gonna show him mental health issues for real.Comment

Lol what are they gonna say that hasn’t already been said?
If he’s dealt with Philly’s media for the last few years, then he’ll be well prepared for NY because they’re no different.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2/8 - 2/17 Games Discussion Thread
Exactly. Also needs to embrace that PF role. He's always been deadset on being a PG. Heck, part of the reason we drafted Fultz was that they wanted Ben to play the Draymond role but he immediately restated that he was a PG. He needs to embrace not being a PG. You can surround him with shooters, but it's still 4 on 5 on offense if he ain't taking shotsComment

Re: 2/8 - 2/17 Games Discussion Thread
Oh there’s pressure on Harden too, don’t get it twisted. Simmons still has the “youth” argument on his side considering he’s only 25 and still has 3 years left on his current contract.
Harden is 32, headed towards 33 and y’all seen what he’s looked like on the court since he’s been here, especially with the jokes y’all had. Those receipts are still here in case people wanna have an about face now that he’s no longer playing KD and Kyrie. I’m watching haha.
Like I said last week, I just hope Doc and Sam are able to get thru to Harden and tell him “Ball Movement = Good, Heavy Isolations and less Embiid touches = Bad”#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2/8 - 2/17 Games Discussion Thread
I feel like NY's media is filled with a lot more loud mouth jackasses than Philly and they'll incessantly harp on him more. IDK maybe I'm wrong. But prepared isn't a word I use for him since he essentially wasn't prepared for what he already dealt with and just hid from everybody.Comment

Jarrett Allen replacing Harden in the ASG.
And Deandre Jordan barely gets off the bench anymore. Hilarious for so many reasons.#RespectTheCultureComment

Nets don’t even feel the real brunt of NY media. It’d be an absolute blood bath everyday if some of this stuff was happening on the Knicks. Too many fans in the national media.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Tyreke Evans reinstated by the NBA after being banned all the way back in 2019 for violating the league's anti-doping policy.
Where y'all see him ending up if anybody wants to take a chance on him? Probably G-League for a while first?Comment

I feel like you can't have it both ways. Last year people were clowning on the Nets in the playoffs because they weren't a blip on the radar compared to the Knicks in that region in terms of relevency. Now somehow the media is going to go all in on Ben Simmons, and put the pressure on? KD and Kyrie aren't exactly known as having steel armor when it comes to that stuff, and they've handled it fine.Comment

Stakes are obviously higher this year for the Nets and things are certainly different for this season for very obvious reasons that would raise the playoff scrutiny level. Beyond that KD and Kyrie have never faked a medical condition and quit half a damn season for being criticized either so they're 'handling' of the NY media in relation to Ben isn't exactly a 1:1 comparison.Comment

Re: 2/8 - 2/17 Games Discussion Thread
I meant the Knicks have too many fans in the national media so we end up in every story. Half the reporters are from NYC or the Northeast, First Take with SAS, Max, and Molly was basically an MSG show. I don’t think there’s anyone to force the Nets into every conversation like we have.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
