How is a rookie 2nd round pick and Diabate a solution to the center position over Williams and Nurkic?

I have to think that they'll go hard after Brook Lopez or make another trade for a center.

That is saying nothing to the fact that Sexton, Nick Smith Jr, and Tre Mann all have skills that heavily overlap.

And rope in Ball, Kon, Curry, McKeeley, Green, etc. They are extemely log jammed at guard. Not counting Taj Gibson, Hornets only have 2 players over 6'7, Diabate, the Rookie Center. That's it.

Guess they are gonna out small ball everyone, unless they acquire a center or two.

I guess the starting lineup is Ball-Green-Miller-Bridges-Diabate. Then, a slew of sub 6'7 guys off the bench. It's weird trading for Sexton. It feels like they need to make a consolidation trade to get off some of these guards and add more front court depth. They are going to struggle in a lot of areas. Perimeter Defense, rebounding, rim protection, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if LaMelo Ball gets traded within a year. They went out their way to say that Kon, McNeely, and the Center were a part of fixing the culture. Ball isn't a winning player. He plays like he is still in Chino Hills, plus he can't stay healthy.

DeAndre Ayton is set to hit the market after being bought out by Portland, so if I'm Charlotte I'd have his agent's number on speed dial.

Just to be hung up on?

He's gonna wind up on the Lakers.

Does LA have any cap space to even sign him or is that just online speculation?

Ayton would need to take a massive pay cut (MLE?) to sign with Los Angeles. Maybe he's that desperate to get back on a contender, but I would take the bag that Charlotte is gonna drop off.

Just speculation, but the Lakers obviously need a C and a player asking for a buyout and then just going to the Lakers wouldn't surprise anyone. Not like it hasn't happened before.

He still gets some money from the Blazers contract combined with the MLE to join the Lakers for a year, and if his numbers improve and the Lakers do well, he can turn that in to a bigger payday.

He said he wants to be in a winning environment, and if you have a season of LeBron and Doncic on the Lakers and you upgrade from Hayes to Ayton, that definitely puts the Lakers in the Rockets/Thunder discussion for top team in the west.

LeBron's deal comes off the books, I believe, next season, so that frees up some salary. Still, I don't think he'd get anywhere near as much if he goes to LA - short-term or long-term - so it would be a gamble.

And I don't know if he'd be fit with Reddick, who we saw will drop his big man from the rotation. Whether it's a real or perceived flaw, obviously Ayton is a much better player than Jaxson Hayes. Still, his defense can be bad or inconsistent at times and I don't think that would jive with a coach like Reddick.

This is a guy who turned them from a joke bottom 5 franchise in the league into a regular playoff team and eventually nba champs.

He's the kind of guy who loves the city and would've stayed forever.
He plateaued 5, going on 6 years ago, and lucked into the Kawhi - Spurs relationship souring (plus Spurs being dumb wanting to remain 'competitive') to secure a title.

He's turned into a Danny Ainge - type GM, which means he is always trying to 'fleece' his trade partner and wanting to be the 'smartest GM' in the room.

The Raptors have been treading water mostly because his roster building has sucked (since losing Kawhi).

If the Pistons can turn the page on Joe Dumars - a guy that helped bring them titles as a player & executive - then any other GM is fair game.

Moving on from Masai after the draft, though, makes little sense. Especially since you let him draft another 6'7" - 6'8" tweener that blends right into the the rest of the roster.

I do want to see what this roster looks like fully healthy and if they can find a back up PG & C. They will likely be in the mix now that Indiana, Boston and Milwaukee are going to fall in the standings.

ATL is having a good offseason. Picking up an unprotected 1st next year and picking up the player they wanted, Getting Porzingis(if healthy), NAW, Kennard. I could see them being a top 5-6 team in East

Pacers needed to upgrade from Turner. But Turner is a good fit alongside Giannis

I'm not surprised that Giannis isn't happy about that. If the offseason is mainly reaigning Porter Jr, Trent Jr, and Portis, and signing Myles Turner, that isn't inspiring.

On one hand, I think they should call his bluff and see if he'll report to training camp or not (if he's 'upset' enough to sit out and demand a trade).

On the other hand, their roster still isn't good enough to make a deep playoff run (even with all the injuries out east).

They still lack another star to pair with Giannis and with no ability to acquire them. Crazy that they gave up on the failed Giannis - Dame pairing after only two season. Even with the loss of this upcoming season to his Achilles injury.
