Like we don’t need to see 2 more teams added especially when fans only care about 4-5 teams right now. You mean to tell me if they add 2 more teams back, y’all gonna start caring about the others?
It's one of those things that people spend a lot of time thinking about, but if it actually happened the next day it would just be another Tuesday. People are just fixated on it for some reason.

And the league definitely does not need 2 more teams. It also doesn't need a play-in tournament, but here we are.

NBA definitely doesn’t need 2 new teams but I think the talent level is so high, at least right now, that adding two teams wouldn’t really dilute the league that much for it not to make sense money wise. You start expanding past 2 teams then yeah I think that could cause some issues. There are so many quality unsigned guys right now that filling out teams/replacing guys lost from expansion draft likely wouldn’t really change much. Of course it would add another two teams to the end of the year tank list each season, but who really cares.

The Seattle obsession is just weird to me. I know Pack mentioned nostalgia but it’s probably the most weird/random nostalgia “thing” that I can even think of. The amount of people who just act like it’s a crime that Seattle doesn’t have a team and the NBA just NEEDS a team there is just weird to me. People aren’t doing that with other former cities that have moved, Seattle was basically a middle of the pack franchise in terms of attendance anyways. If it was really THAT big of a deal they would have done more to keep the team there, or gotten one of the teams always in rumor to move/sell to move there at this point.

Would I enjoy the Sonics being back? Sure. There is nostalgia factor there for me as well. But I don’t think the league is just suffering because the Sonics are gone. Out of all NBA related banter those discussions have to top the list of being the most random hyperbolic takes.

Some of y’all keep saying “Money” like duh we know this, lol.

You are not seeing or getting a single dollar from it regardless so leave that part out and ask yourself why you need to see 2 more teams added?

Like I said, it’s a NBATwitter thing because that is where I see most of the discussion lie at.

Go outside in the real world with real people and nobody is clamoring for more teams, lol. We don’t care about half of the teams in the league but adding 2 more will be good for the product? De-lu-sion-al.

I'm not advocating for 2 more teams I was just answering what's the argument for 2 more teams and the only correct answer is money.

Sounds dumb as ****. I'm curious about the "All games part of normal 82 game season" part. So if you advance further in the tournament you will have a harder regular season than the other 22, because you will be playing against better teams. And those other 22 "continue on with regular season." So we won't really have a set schedule going in to the season.

I'm confused at what any of that even means.

What will make fans care about this tournament? Will wining it just be seen as winning a division title in the sense that it just means an extra banner in the rafters which really doesn't matter to the players or fans since the end goal is the NBA championship?

"NBA has suspended Suns owner Robert Sarver for one year from the Suns and Mercury organization based on league investigation. Sarver has also been fined $10 million and complete training program focused on respect and appropriate workplace conduct.
Key findings, NBA says: Robert Sarver said the N-word at least 5 times when recounting statement of others; made sex-related, inappropriate comments about physical appearance of females; inappropriate physical conduct toward men; engaged in harsh treatment."

Pretty lame he only got a one year suspension TBH, would've liked to see him sell the team.

How do you not get kicked out after that?

And with the head of the NBPA on your team too (former head now, but Paul was still the head when he first got to Phoenix)

Forcing an owner to sell isn't as easy as all that. Sterling was like the perfect storm.

                            Exactly.

He was never going to get forced out and other Owners certainly weren’t going to force him out either so really this was the best they could do.
