Re: NBA Draft 2023
Not sure how to feel about the Rockets' draft. Guess they got the best available with their respective first-round selections. Still...
You get an uber-talented cat with a busted J who ideally would be the primary ball handler as the shooting develops...and that's going to be hard with Green and KPJ (and don't get me started if they really want to go after the strip club goat).
Then - on paper - maybe you get this steal of the night, but I'd think a guy with questions about his hustle and heart would be better served on a team with a strong, in-tact culture like Miami.
Ime is going to earn every penny of his contract.Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSGComment

Re: NBA Draft 2023
Weird draft for the two teams I follow.
Bucks:
Absolutely loved Andre Jackson as a college player. I think he snuck into my top 30 but the drop off after like 22 or so on my board was pretty severe. Feels like Jackson is sort of a low floor, low ceiling guy; just not sure how he's going to survive offensively. I almost think he's going to have to play sort of that Brooklyn Bruce Brown role (but he's nowhere near the shooter that Brown was even back then and Brown wasn't particularly good at that point lol). Don't really get the Chris Livingston stuff at all but hard to be too upset with the last pick of the entire draft. Omari Moore is a really interesting two-way contract guy though. Legitimately outplayed Anthony Black, Nick Smith, and Brandin Podziemski when matched up against them last year. Late bloomer type dude; we'll see how he develops.
Wizards:
Coulibaly was the one realistic option at #8 that I did not want them to take and they ended up trading up slightly for him. Just don't really get how he ended up this high personally, but he's young and has a great body and motor so we'll see. Vukcevic is a fun 2nd rounder; not going to pretend I've seen much of him but he stood out big time in the Combine scrimmages as a stretch big man. He moved a lot more fluidly than those types usually do and was seemingly making every shot.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Re: NBA Draft 2023
Raptors sign undrafted FA Markquis Nowell.
A 5'7PG.
Would be tied for the 4th shortest player in NBA history and shortest player to have made his NBA debut in the 21st century (Nate at 5'9 is currently the shortest to have debuted since 2000)
We've seen Muggsy and Bol and Boykins and Yao, now let's see Nowell and WembyLast edited by Majingir; 06-23-2023, 07:35 PM.Comment

Re: NBA Draft 2023
OK, cause if it was only an Exhibit - 10 then he's likely training camp fodder that would end up on the G-League affiliate.
He's really, really small but the Raptors could use all the PG help they can find. Even if he'll likely not play on the big squad too much for a year or two.
