I will be one of them. Only because those mfers are owed a first round pick from us from 2025 until potentially 2028 if it doesn't convey then. So until that piece of business is paid off, I'm gonna be the Spurs' biggest ***** around here. Bout to be a hate-a-thon on everything they do lol

For the record I didn't say I'd pass on him, just that I'd be terrified of him

I was okay with getting Scoot or someone else if we fell out of the top 3, but Wemby is the biggest prize. You gotta go with the guy that could significantly alter your team's trajectory without fear.

The draft (in any sport) is an inexact science, so gotta take the risk given the opportunity he could bring (financially and on the court).

****, I already copped a Classic - edition jersey of Wembanyama (#1) and he hasn’t stepped foot on a NBA court.

I feel the same way. I'd buy a jersey too. Did I see that ticket sales went up after too?

You can't pass up on that like you said. I think of LeBron. What he did in Cleveland was basically impossible. The business in the area benefitted too. Cleveland has always fielded a good team since even after he left (both times). That's the kind of change one player can make.

            NBA Draft 2023

Jeebs, Cleveland stunk the first time he left until he came back wtf are you talking about? Lol

Outside of Kyrie, nothing about that roster said “This team could be a sleeper” lol.

lol I was about to say...

They've done well this time, but the first time he left they were probably a worst team of all time nomination that first season and for those 4 years combined they averaged 24 wins a year lol.

They had pieces for sure. I'm talking about Ricky Davis and up. They sucked. Felt like LA Clippers and them were trading players thru free agency for a minute there in the 90's.

If you think about it. Cavs were solid draft wise. Kyrie, Waiters, TT, and even Wiggins at the end there. But they weren't dumpster diving like I said above. Yes, their recorded didn't reflect that. They had a direction. That's all I'm saying.

Uhhhh You might wanna go back and reread your post again because nothing in there was referencing Ricky Davis, just Lebron lol

I was talking about before LeBron. What I'm saying is LeBron either changed or forced an entire organization to change it's culture. That culture shock is still within the Cavs. That's all I'm saying [emoji23].

                        Same here.

He's just too damn tall for me to have any confidence he won't be injury prone or have a career altering injury.

If I had the number one pick this year I would be very tempted to trade it. But if I'm wrong and Wemby doesn't have injury problems, I don't want to go down in history as that guy

Now if he could without his rebounding. He's worth a look.

Nick Smith as well. But obviously these are controlled environments. Results don't really show off the player in my opinion.

Nick Smith is to me in that Reddish/Malachi Richardson class where I wouldn’t want to touch him until the very end of the first round. Happy to let another team be the one that takes him around the lottery.

And honestly, late first round feels like a gamble that he only struggled due to his injuries this past year. I’d feel pretty nervous taking him even that late.

Speaking of the Thompson twins, part of me thinks/wants to see someone pull a Brian Burke (NHL) and trade up in the draft to get consecutive lottery picks and draft both twins.

If they work out, you have a solid duo who probably won't want to split up and could help carry your team while you get known for pulling off one of the bigger draft day moves ever (that Burke one is still talked about in hockey 25 years later)

The Magic are the one team who could really pull it off.
