I will say compared to most super athletic “small” guys like that he has a far more developed outside shot. And he seems to knock it down with regularity whether it’s off the dribble, moving into space, or just at a stand still.

Also you can tell he just has incredible genetics. A shame for him that he didn’t get more of the height but dude is already built better than most pros. And I doubt he’s had to work THAT hard in the weight room or with his diet to get there. He’s a unit. The legs are trunks man. But obviously if he was 6’5, 6’6 he’d be looking more like a projected top pick.

Can’t judge many, if any, of these dudes based on HS anymore. So I can’t just say he looks like a pro, or like a top whatever pick. But I will say he looks like one of the guys who have benefitted from playing at a big time school with lots of talent, and in the AAU circuit with lots of talent. He seems to have a good grasp on moving the ball, without the ball, and not needing to be the dude taking all the shots to be effective.

I will say I’m not sold on this defensive motor and stuff they are hyping up. I think he looks like an elite defender, but you just can’t compare defending HS kids to NBA players. If he stepped on the floor tomorrow he’d be among the smallest guys out there. Defending guys substantially bigger, stronger, faster than he’s defending now.

I've wanted this guy in for a while. I think he'll contribute early. Like a Josh Hart almost.

Man, I wish the draft lottery was tonight instead of tomorrow. Would give us something to talk about while we wait for the conference finals.

Anyway, I'm hoping for Wemby/the #1 pick but will settle for anyone in the top 4 (Wemby, Scoot, then anyone from Whitmore, Miller, or Walker).

The Thompson twins are really intriguing prospects, yet they have a lot of holes in their games and played against pedestrian competition at the OTE.

Don't know what this fan base will do if the Raptors move up AGAIN (they already lucked into getting Scottie 2 years ago).

Definitely means the end of Siakam (if they get 1) and/or Van Vleet (if they get 2 or 3).

              Siakam’s probably a goner anyway.

If any of those 4 teams move up it more than likely means the Mavs pick drops and conveys to the Knicks.

I'm kind of terrified of the #1 pick cause I just can't convince myself that Wembanyama is gonna stay healthy. But I also want to see Chicago go ahead and somehow land the number 1 pick for the third time this year. Feels like Scoot would be the better answer for us.

I think Van Vleet is gone for sure.

I just don't know what they'll do this offseason. Besides Poeltl and Barnes, nobody on their starting lineup is safe.

OGs value might be at an all time high after leading the NBA in steals.

Van Vleet is a FA and no reason for Raptors to dish out all that money just to keep him. A S&T is something I see most likely.

Then Siakam, there's not as much need for him if your team isn't trying to be a top team in the east.

They could very well go into next season with Poeltl at C, Barnes at PF, whoever they draft also in the lineup, and whoever they get from the trades rounding out their lineup. 1 step back next season, but all the picks stockpiled, they could make a bigger splash later on. Next season especially since the Spurs pick is top 6 protected, you're either gonna be a playoff team or try for bottom 5 in the league, anything inbetween is a double loss.

We'll see what happens with him. He could wind up being the next Duncan,Shaq, the next Towns,Ayton or wind up the next Oden.

First time I've heard of this [emoji23].

Passing on the Frenchmen would be a mistake. You have to take that chance.

I’m not sure I care enough to really get in the weeds on these prospects, but I don’t think it would take all that much to convince me on taking Amen or Anthony Black ahead of Miller and or Scoot. Probably still Scoot #2 in my mind but I’m not really locked in on it.

Neither Amen nor Anthony Black are good enough offensively to leapfrog Henderson.

They both possess superior size/length, but both are gonna be offensive liabilities to begin their careers.

Plus, unlike Ausar, it seems like Amen is destined to be a "low-effort" defender unless something drastic changes in his approach and effort.

I’m not really concerned with how good they are to start their career but agreed. The upside with Amen is tantalizing though, and Black feels like someone that should settle in as a good bench player even if he relatively busts. And if god forbid he figures shooting out, he could be great. Scoot isn’t exactly a great shooter either (but he’s so young still).

I think Scoot will be better than all of them. Easily IMO.

one thing I've always wondered about the evolution of enormous ballhandlers, wouldn't it be easy for quick handed on-ball defenders to get steals off a 7'5" dribbler?
