They’re both sort of balls of clay but smart players and fantastic athletes. Amen is further along in terms of ball handling and is a true 99.9 percentile athlete. There’s maybe nobody in the NBA that can do some of the things he can. But his shot is incredibly busted and he’s a worse finisher around the rim than you’d think (to be fair, he takes some outrageous shots at the rim lol).
Ausar looks more promising shooting the ball but still isn’t great. He’s a less functional athlete; still a really good run and jump guy but doesn’t have the grace and body control that Amen has so he’s not able to take advantage of the athleticism as much. I think he’s overvalued personally but I understand the allure.
Both are 20+ year olds playing against high schoolers and maybe didn’t dominate the way you’d expect someone with that age gap and athleticism to dominate.
