    Re: 2023 NBA Trade Deadline

Nets aren't gonna deal "several firsts" to get rid of Simmons (and get Siakam) are they?

At least rumors will be over in a few days. Because all the latest rumors sound like Raptors starting 5 by next week will be Claxton, someone else,Barnes,Suggs,Simmons.

Minutes after Siakams interview at practice, Masai pulled him into his office.

This could mean anything from Siakam is being traded, someone close to him is being traded, Masai is ordering lunch and wants to know what Pascal wants, or maybe they're joking around with the media/teams by making it seem like something is up (I remember stories of this very thing happening before where a GM pulled certain guys from practice the day of the deadline and the media freaked out, they were just pranking the media).

        Re: 2023 NBA Trade Deadline

This place really gets up for trade talk than the actual games, that’s wild/funny/not surprising. Was wondering why that thread was so quiet lol.

And Cam I said the same thing regarding Kyrie/Tsai last summer but I was being a “homer/Stan” back then but as long as you see it too lol.

Agree with OJ with the Raptors treating certain players like they’re elite players with what they’re asking for(OG specifically)and also agree with King in that Minnesota pretty much messed up the market for teams.

But yeah, Spence and DFS aren’t playing tonight(“Coach’s Decision” although I don’t really buy that). If we can get another wing/athlete plus a backup big and hang onto what we got from Dallas, they could make some noise Defensively.

Personally, KD and Clax are the only one I wouldn’t move although I could be persuaded for Clax depending on what would be offered. With KD, you ride this out the rest of this season and figure out the rest in the offseason.

Either way, if Marks sits and does nothing, then he can go after the season too.

'Nets are finalizing trade to send forward Kessler Edwards and cash to the Kings, sources tell ESPN. The Nets save a total of $8M in salary and luxury tax and open up a roster spot. Edwards still has to approve trade because he has a "one-year Bird Rights restriction" in his deal."

The Russell tree comes full circle?

Lakers originally dealt D'Angelo to the Nets for a package including Kuzma.

Kuzma was one of the guys they later dealt in the Westbrook deal

Now Westbrook traded with D'Angelo coming back?

Seems like draft compensation and other moving players being discussed. Beasley and Vanderbilt possibilities to LAL.

IMO something along the lines of this was always the best case trade scenario. Not a 3rd star, not another random big that Ham doesn't want to play next to AD anyways.. But it should have happened a month ago, two months ago. It's too late to shuffle around 4+ news guys and expect to have the chemistry needed to win 4-5 games for every loss from here on out.

One of the other shooters they were looking at (like Trent) would have been a better grab than Beasley, but this does address shooing, size, and defense on the wing.

Wonder if Pat heads back to Minny.. Can't imagine the Lakers would take on more salary.

Can't wait for this to heat up. I wanna see what else the Mavs do to improve that roster. I'd love to see the Raptors become sellers and see Siakam moved to Dallas.

They should go get Beasley and Trent that would be perfect. I don't know if they could pull it off. But that would give Lebron two really good shooters.

I really like this deal of Russell back in LA. He fits what they need. Not mention Beleasy. He's a shooter!

I wonder what kind of deal Masai can get from Knicks this time if it happens.

Beleasy a few years ago was scoring more points and in a better fg% than now but he is still on the younger side so maybe he could regain some of that with Lakers and yeah agree about being a good fit. If it goes down I would still like Lakers to find a way to trade Pat and like a second round pick some where else for a big guy or something.

A few "sources" claiming Nets might be re-thinking their stance on not trading KD... Makes no sense to me, but also makes me wonder if Toronto is interested since all of Siakam, OG, FVV have been rumored for the Nets. Could have been all separate possibilities, but I don't think the Nets have the players/draft assets to make a run at the whole trio.

I would rather see the Nets make some smaller moves and see what they have. They were looking as good/better than anybody for a stretch and I personally don't think swapping Kyrie for Dinwiddie and getting a bit bigger and better defensively is all that bad. They would really be banking heavily on Dinwiddie's consistency, but when that works like Jrue getting hot in some big moments late in games he played poorly in for Milwaukee, or Lowry and FVV finally getting their **** on track halfway through Toronto's run sometimes it doesn't really matter how big the "name" is.

Improvement would be easier if Ben's trade value wasn't shot. I get that.

IF Raptors go after KD, don't see how it makes sense if all 3 of those guys are involved.

If they can get KD without dealing Siakam or Barnes, I'd do it.

Trent,OG,FVV won't be off the table.
