Yeah that's going to be a really bad look for Randle to complain about that not being a flagrant. Pretty common foul.

I'm fond of Jarrett Allen. Always wished the Pistons had him instead of Andre Drummond when Allen was still a relative unknown.

Not fond of the courtesy flagrant he was just given. Dunking with two hands off one foot when you're being chased in the open floor is putting oneself in a vulnerable position. Allen has a right to make a play. Guess it's all for naught, though Randle had the look of someone who's going to catch serious feelings over that.

Cavs just took it back to the Knicks more than they've shown they can handle this year. Brunson did nothing. Randle left with a hurt p u s s y. Cavs come out and play like that in game 3 I don't see where anyone can see the Knicks taking another game.

Didn't see that injury to Randle on my fantasy report. Knicks in 6.

Lol I still don't think we should of traded Allen. We developed Claxton in all that. But I still like Allen more.

But I don't think that's a courtesy F1. It's a dangerous play. I'm ok with the hustle. It's definitely one of those it's a done deal. He's going to dunk it. It's the body contact of taking his legs out that really sticks out for me. Reminds of Andrew Bogut injury years ago. He missed the season trying to break his fall in a similar situation.

Giannis upgraded to questionable. I’m guessing he’ll give it a go tonight.

I think VDusen's point was (and he can correct me if I'm wrong) that it being a dangerous play was largely dude to how Randle chose to finish, maybe even more so than just Allen trying to block it. Going up for a quick one hander would largely prevent him from the swinging motion that could occur with a foul. Jarrett, IMO, made no attempt to undercut him, he went for a block and momentum sorta did the rest. A lot of that momentum is how Randle chose to finish the play.

I'm ok with the flagrant, but I'm also ok with it just being bad circumstance at the result of a common foul as well. I don't think the play itself had any unnecessary or extra contact. If Randle lands clean that is a common foul 10 times out of 10, so you're punishing Allen for the way a player fell/landed, not necessarily for how he actually fouled him.

I understand those types of plays can always sorta be 50/50 in terms of flagrant or not, I'm just not a huge fan of reactionary calls like that. It's kind of like when refs wait to see if a shot goes in or not before calling a foul. If it's a foul it's a foul, nothing to wait on, if it's a flagrant make it a flagrant, not wait to see how awkwardly the player sticks his landing to determine what the contact was.

I think that was his point. Randle can't be the one blamed here for what type of finish he chose. It's about Allen coming in out of control to cause body contact to a player hanging on the rim. Who's safely trying to land. Allen forces him to let go of the rim and land even further out. Yeah that's dangerous. The attachments might not work for everyone chrome_A0qNh9eozn.jpgchrome_MQei1J5gyR.jpg

yeah this point just doesnt make sense, it even shows in your second photo randle still has the ball when Allen jumps so its not like Allen has no shot at making a play on the ball

I was trying to shows gif of slow mo of what happen. Allen is out of control launching himself the way he did. Yes Allen has a chance to make a play on the ball. But he should of let this one go. He didn't even get the ball.

This play is similar in a way of giving the shooter a landing spot with a 3 pointer or jumper.
