Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
Derrick Rose officially announces his retirement.
Those first 3 years of his career...what could've been beyond that if not for his injury.
For a short time it seemed like Derrick Rose and Brandon Roy were gonna be the next 2 big stars of the NBA.Comment

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
Rose was probably the most athletic PG ever when he was fully healthy. I remember watching a video 'theory' on YouTube about how him being primarily a two-foot leaper but constantly landing on one-foot is what did him in.
Hopefully the Bulls 'unofficially' retire his number and another player never wears #1, again.

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
I hope there is an alternate universe out there where Derrick Rose, Brandon Roy and Greg Oden don't all have their careers partially or fully ruined by knee injuries.

They won 50 games in 09/10 with Aldridge, Roy but no Oden and 54 the year before with all 3 but Oden was coming off an injury and was rookie.
That could've been the next big 3 in the NBA with the Celtics era slowly winding down.Comment

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
Had a small little piece of hope that the Bulls would sign him and let him get one last run here before this day came before he went to every stop after NY and definitely when I saw him get waived by Memphis.
Either way, dude was the closest one to lead this franchise to the high of the MJ Bulls and now his retirement is the first one to make as sad as the day MJ called it quits here the last time.

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
Knicks and Wolves in talks to send KAT to NY for Donte and Randle.
Sucks to break up the Nova crew but not a bad pickup for the Knicks.Comment

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
But, outside of that, it isn't a home run for either team. That KAT contract isn't pretty and it leaves a short window before they have to break up that team. Randle doesn't fit the Wolves any better than he did with the Knicks.

Wondering if they even keep Randle, I feel like he and Naz overlap quite a bit.Comment

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
first round pick from Detroit? wait what?
edit: it looks heavily protected and will become a 2nd eventually, but what does Detroit get? I don't understand their involvement
super late bonus edit: is Detroit in this for cash considerations to offset how poorly they've handled the coaching situation? woof!Last edited by l3ulvl; 09-28-2024, 03:01 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

I believe the Knicks already owned the Detroit pick, not a situation where Detroit jumped in to this particular trade.Comment

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
Mixed feelings on this one.
Besides breaking up the good story of the nova Knicks divo is gonna be a big loss. Randle had been playing great ball before the injury and seemed fully bought in. Towns gives us help we needed at center but him and Thibs clashed before and he doesn’t provide the type of defense that seems to fit.
That said, Randle is coming off a big injury, and you don’t know how he fits with a more diminished role after adding bridges. They didn’t seem comfortable signing him long term so at some point it made sense to trade him. Towns will help our spacing and with how good our wings are defensively hopefully we don’t have to rely on having a strong rim protector for all 48 minutes

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
Look I don't like the trade only because DevInco. I don't understand why he keeps bouncing around. An NBA champion and very solid player. Last year he had one of his best seasons.
Towns while a talented player. He soft at times. Sorry, I sound like Jimmy Butler [emoji23]. He's got a lot to prove to me.
For Minnesota I don't see how well Randle fits with this team (especially next to Rudy Gobert). Edwards obviously has the keys now.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
