Re: 2024 Paris Olympics Basketball Thread
Serbia is moving the ball around and hot from three. Meanwhile USA had a few bad turnovers that Serbia capitalized on and USA needs to score within thee 3pt line
USA needs to play straight up on defense. Serbia is capitalizing on almost every open shotLast edited by illwill10; 08-08-2024, 04:14 PM.Comment

Joel's lack of mobility has almost ****ed them the last 5-6 possessions because dude will not / cannot chase a rebound lol.Comment

Re: 2024 Paris Olympics Basketball Thread
Chef Curry kept them in the game, Embiid had great stretches, KD showed up in the 4th, but Bron steadied the ship. While Embiid was good and was a big factor in the win, Embiid’s rebounding/Boxout is terrible, especially when he's fatigued. Embiid can get easily boxed out and out-hustled for boards. I'm really hoping after ths Olympics is over, he needs get in better shape and conditionedComment

I was thinking the same thing. In a weird way it was both the best he’s looked and the worst he’s looked at the same time lol.
They got the win so his buckets and some stops he had late definitely helped close it out, but at the same time if they hit a couple of those open looks they got because he seemed incapable of securing the defensive board and they end up losing he then looks like a big reason why.
That entire late game lineup Steph-Book-KD-Bron-Embiid just kept making big play after big play. Booker hit a massive straight ahead three pretty late as well that’s gotten overlooked because of everyone else too.
Wonder if Bogey raised his trade value back up a bit. He seemed in a slump as a NBA player over the last year and 1/2, some injuries and more awkward fit with the Murray addition. I could see some teams who had interest in him before that slide regaining that interest in him again now. He was great.Comment

Re: 2024 Paris Olympics Basketball Thread
Am I the only person who finds this constant obsession with Tatum not playing to be ridiculous? KD’s injury essentially moved him to 6th man and the rotation at the forward spot is basically Bron-KD-Tatum. Any time they don’t play a team with two huge forwards it makes more sense for quicker guards like Jrue, Ant, White to be on the floor, any time they need to go big and need an actual big it makes more sense to play Bam or AD both who can be a 4.
Like I get he just won a ring and is a great player, but at full health in this setting (no 82+ games) he’s not better than LeBron or KD. And they are winning these games. I just don’t get the griping about it daily.Comment
