Bron playing amazing defense but limping to the bench every dead ball. Seems he’s trying to “rest” on offense too.

Lakers just out of gas in the 4th. Minnesota too young and hungry. Great gameComment

Lakers have gotten far too little out of the non Bron/Luka guys on this one.. as much as the Luka trade really helps their future I can’t help but think having Davis in this serious would leave them better off. They don’t have the rim protection to make up for how much more athletic and physical Minnesota is on the perimeter.
It goes without saying that Luka is unquestionably the far better player than AD but in terms of team building, I think the Lakers were better with AD than they are currently.Comment

Originally posted by illwill10Could've called a foul there, but great gameOriginally posted by VniDefinately a foul.Originally posted by ojandpizzaThat’s a foul at any other point in the game. Can’t swallow the whistle because it’s a last shot.
My take: the refs laid off the fouls a lot, it could've been a FT competition if everyone on both sides got what they were complaining for, and it's of course tied to Thibs comments. It drove me nuts in the moment that Detroit didn't get the call, but after calming down (lol), that's how playoff basketball goes, and Detroit isn't ready for late 4th quarter playoff basketball yet (not just this game, just the series overall)
The other take I had, the turnover at the very end of the third that led to a 2 on 0 break for Detroit, and the confusion resulted in a dunk after the buzzer. (similar to the game winning dunk the other night for Denver, but the exact opposite). Anyone watching that moment had the same comment as anyone commenting on an NFL kicker missing an extra point, "that's gonna cost them", and Detroit lost by one
Detroit ascended a lot this year, it's been great to watch, but they'll have to go through the struggles just like everyone else, the series isn't technically over, but even if Detroit has the lead late in game 5, I expect a collapse, they're not ready to close out playoff gamesWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Second Half of the Season March-April Regular Season Discussion
It's a shame. Dame turns 35 this summer. That Achilles Tear usually takes 8-12 months to recover from. He's either missing his age 35 season or at best coming back around January-February. One has to wonder if this could be it for the Giannis era. This could be the 3rd straight 1st round exit and Dame could be out for the whole season. Their GM just got extended. So, I could see them trading Giannis for a haul and moving on from Doc Rivers and starting a rebuildComment

Doesn't look like The Bucks can go full blown rebuild because they don't have their draft picks for a long time
2026 first round draft pick to New Orleans (swap, New Orleans incoming)
New Orleans has the right to swap its 2026 1st round pick for Milwaukee's 2026 1st round pick [Denver-Milwaukee-New Orleans-Oklahoma City, 11/23/2020]
2027 first round draft pick to New Orleans or Atlanta
New Orleans will receive the more favorable of its 2027 1st round pick and Milwaukee's 2027 1st round pick and Atlanta will receive the less favorable of the two protected for selections 1-4; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyable, then New Orleans' obligation to Atlanta will be extinguished and New Orleans will instead receive both picks (via New Orleans) [Denver-Milwaukee-New Orleans-Oklahoma City, 11/23/2020; Atlanta-New Orleans, 7/6/2024]
2028 first round draft pick to Portland or Washington (Portland, Washington, Brooklyn, Philadelphia or Phoenix incoming)
Portland will receive the more favorable of its 2028 1st round pick, protected for selections 15-30 if Portland has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Chicago by 2027, and Milwaukee's 2028 1st round pick; Washington will receive the more favorable of (i) the more favorable of (a) Washington's 2028 1st round pick and (b) the least / less favorable of Brooklyn's 2028 1st round pick, Philadelphia's 2028 1st round pick, which would be protected for selections 1-8 if Philadelphia does not convey a 1st round pick to Brooklyn in 2027 and otherwise conveyable if Philadelphia has conveyed a 1st round pick to Oklahoma City by 2026, and Phoenix's 2028 1st round pick and (ii) the less favorable of the Milwaukee pick and the Portland pick if conveyable and Milwaukee will receive the less favorable of (i) and (ii); if the Portland pick is not conveyable, then Milwaukee's obligation to Portland will be extinguished and Washington will instead have the right to swap for the Milwaukee pick [see (ii) above] (via Portland's right to swap for Milwaukee; via Washington's right to swap Washington, Brooklyn, Philadelphia or Phoenix for Milwaukee or Portland) [Milwaukee-Phoenix-Portland, 9/27/2023; Milwaukee-New York-Washington, 2/6/2025]
2029 first round draft pick to Portland or Washington
Portland will receive the most and least favorable of its 2029 1st round pick, Boston's 2029 1st round pick and Milwaukee's 2029 1st round pick and Washington will receive the second most favorable of the three (via Boston to Portland; via Milwaukee to Portland; via Portland to Washington) [Milwaukee-Phoenix-Portland, 9/27/2023; Boston-Portland, 10/1/2023; Portland-Washington, 7/6/2024]
2030 first round draft pick to Portland (swap, Portland incoming)
Portland has the right to swap its 2030 1st round pick for Milwaukee's 2030 1st round pick [Milwaukee-Phoenix-Portland, 9/27/2023]

That problem with trading for Giannis is they will need an All star caliber proven player + draft picks. What teams outside of OKC and Houston can do that and still be a contender?Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense
