The Rockets gave this series to the Mavericks on a silver platter. Doesn't matter, they won't beat the Suns.

Well the Rox blew it but I got to hand it to the Mavz.. especially Jason Terry! I never knew he was 'THAT' good... without him I don`t think they would`ve won this series. Anyone that has doubted this guy or made fun of him in the past was obviously wrong.

And I think the Mavz have a good chance to beat Pheonix! It will be interesting to see if Terry can keep up this pace?! We could see another barn burner in this series too!

      GO MAVZ!!!

Well now that the first round is over lets see how my predictions held up..evaluations in quote

        - yeah im calling the sweep i know there's going to be atleast 1 sweep in the first round, memphis might be a good defensive squad but i don't see how they can run with the Suns, also the Grizz have no main scorer that can consistently give them 30 pts a night in this series, and you can't forget their near collapse at the end of the season.
Was completely right about this series the Suns flat out owned Memphis.

San Antonio over Denver (4-2) - quite a few people have the Spurs in 6 but it all depends on how healthy Duncan is going to be, and i think Denver can win a few in this series, Carl has them playing again since he came..but they are playing the Spurs...

was 1 game off, Nuggets managed to surprise in Game 1, but then the Spurs just went back to being the Spurs

Seattle over Sacremento (4-3) - Seattle is more of a finesse team and needs to consistently have good shooting nights to make this series short, but i think this will be a tough series.

This series i was wayy off, over assesed the Kings and under estimated the Sonics also Ray Allen went off

Dallas over Houston (4-2) - Dallas has good depth and is playing defense now i think the Rockets will be overmatched, but Tmac is going to have a good game or two.

        called it

        East
        Miami over New Jersey (4-3)
        - Shaq not being at full strength definitely hurts the Heat, and the Nets picked the right time to get hot, VC and Kidd are playing some of their best ball now this series will go down to a game 7.

worst prediction by far, New Jersey played nothing like they where when they need a post season berth down the stretch of the season, Heat came to play

Detroit over Philadelphia (4-1) - Things haven't exactly been all gravy for the sixers after C-Webb arrived i don't know how far Iverson can take them in this series.

        called it again

Celtics over Pacers (4-2) - This series could be close, but i think the Celtics are just the better team.

way off, despite a close series the Pacers where resilient and came to play

Washington over Chicago (4-2) - as much as i loved the Bulls cinderella season i'm sorry to say but it ends here, they're missing two of their key players in Deng and Curry and Washingtons young backcourt of Arenas, Hughes is just to much of a mismatch, this season is a good building block for the Bulls though, and shows promise.

        called it

Aight here's to a good first round of basketball
overall i think i did pretty good in the first round..actually called half of the series's down to the number, and only missed 1 team advancing

          Posting my 2nd round predictions

          West

Phoenix over Dallas (4-2) - this is a tough one to call, the Mavs can play D and Dirk has yet to go off, but i think the Suns have alot more in the tank (after the Mavs went the distance in their last series) and Steve Nash will prove why he's the MVP (like reports say)

San Antonio over Seattle (4-3) - i under-estimated the Sonics in the last series and i think this will be a great series, but in the end the Spurs will win in 7.

          East
Miami over Washington (4-1) - the Wiz don't have the luxury of playing the baby bulls and now they're pitted against Shaq and a well rested Heat squad. If Washington wins a game in this series it'll be because their big 3 of Arenas Hughes and Jamison goes off.

Detroit over Indiana (4-2) - i kind of knew these teams would somehow meet in the playoffs after their brawl, im going to stick with no upsets..this series will be overhyped badly, but that doesn't change the fact the Pistons are the defending world champs.

Phoenix/Dallas, eh? Wow, what a series is it gonna be. I dont expect Dirk to have this mediocre a series again. The guy will probably play like the superstar that he is against us, cant expect him to play like that. I dont know how it's gonna go down, but I cant wait for it to start. Monday here we come!!

Here are my predictions for round 2.....

Phoenix v. Dallas (Phoenix in 6) -- I gotta predict my team, dont I?

San Antonio v. Seattle (San Antonio in 6) -- I hope and pray Seattle wins this, but I have to go with Duncan and the Spurs. I think they'll just be too much to handle for the Sonics. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Miami v. Washington (Miami in 4) -- I dont see any way that Washington wins this, they will probably end up stealing a game though.

Detroit v. Indiana (Indiana in 7) - I'm gonna go with the upset here and go with Indiana. I think Indiana has something to prove, seeing as how they were completely discounted after everyone got suspended and here they are, playing the team where all that crap happened.

              I dont know, we'll see.

I'm rooting for Dallas as well, I really want to see Phoenix crumble with them missing all 5000 3 point shots they take per game.

yea i think its gonna be a fun series to watch, two high scoring teams going at it

hopefully they dont play defense and score 130+ every game that'd be really cool

personally think that the mavs will win it in 6 or 7...they're just a waaay deeper team than the suns

I want Pheonix to win, simply because it will dispell the myth that you can't run in the playoffs. There hasn't been a true running team in the league since the Showtime Lakers besides this year's Suns. They always push the ball up the floor, and its a joy to watch. All these other "uptempo" teams of the last few years were not really uptempo at all, they were just talented offensive ballclubs who ran occasionally.

I don`t think I can agree with more offensive weapons... Both teams have great offenses but I agree that homecourt could be enough for the Suns. However, if the Mavz play with the same intensity they played with last night, the Suns can`t beat`em. I`m tempted to say no-one can beat`em if they play like that.

I'd have to agree, a game doesn't have to be a scorefest to be exciting. A good defensive game can be just as good. And when I say that I mean actual defense, not just bad shots and poor shooting percentage.

what does rest have to do with anything. The Mavs went 7 with Portland in 2002 and still went to the West Finals.
