Well, 87 games into the season, it hasn't been done yet...if someone can do it consistently, that's the team the Suns might lose to in a 7 game series.

This is a clinic. Like what the Mavs did to Houston. Dampier although he can't guard Amare, he should cause some problems for them defensively, but he is playing badly in the playoffs. Good thing this is only game 1.

We'll see if Dallas can make any adjustments, but it seems like they are weak right now.
LOl The problem with this is that are players can also drive to the bucket if they have to, and and Amare is a beast inside who pretty much commands a double team or will go off for lots of points like he did tonight.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I think San Antonio can too, there is no doubt about it...there are a few other teams that can beat the Suns (Miami and Detroit are the only teams in the east for sure)...the Mavs, even though they got destroyed in game 1, can push the Suns as well.

The Spurs are the only team that can fluster us enough, I think.

I dont even know what to say or comment about this game...except that Amare is a bull, Joe Johnson needs to run the point more often, and we need to keep the same energy in game 2.

Ya'll think that if the Mavs play man on the Suns more, that they might have a greater chance at holding them better?

Mavs have no chance of holdin them anything. Ofcourse they can make an attempt at slowin them down by playin a more consistant half-court game but Phoenix will break out eventually. Plain and simple Dallas is just goin to have to score with them. It isn't impossible, especially with the roster that Dallas has. IMO, Avery should sit Dampier's tired butt. I'd go with Dirk at C. I know it's risky because of the foul trouble Stat can put you in along with the trouble he'll have defendin the pick N roll but I'm lookin at it from an offensive standpoint. Dallas has to make Stat play some defense. I say Dallas should play the smallball they played against Houston with Jet, Stack, Fin, Howard and Dirk. Make Amare and Nash play some defense and do what you can do to get these guys in foul trouble so you can expose that bench. Whatever Avery decides to do, he has to do it quick. I'm not sayin anything is a must-win but I definitley feel Dallas needs to make Game 2 some what of a more close game in order to build up enough confidence headin into Game 3 that they can get the 2 in their place. If Phoenix blows 'em out again, thats life-support mode. I know they recovered from Houston but for the most part, those Houston losses were all close at some point. Game 1 in Phoenix seemed over from the get-go. I'll definitley be interested in seein what Avery emphasizes in Game 2.

Can Seattle play any crappier in the first quarter? These guys are playing horrible, I dont care injured or not.

they could play a zone down low and have man to man on the arc. I think Dallas is just too slow right now. They need to find some speed to keep up with Suns' fastbreak. Forget Amare, if Dampier doesn't step up, he's gonna do good. The 3's are taken a toll on mavs.

Seattle is really disappointing me. Ray Allen is the only one putting in work. The rest of everyone else is taking bad shots and not playing good defense.

And oh yeah, they put my man Flip in the game, and he's jacking up shots, probably just because he's just happy to be out there. They should have played him more in the regular season.

Seattle has dissapointed me too, I've been hoping theyd at least give San Antonio a fight, if they wouldnt be able to beat them anyway.

Does anyone feel that Dallas is still right there with Phoenix after game one? I didnt get a chance to watch much of it and from the sounds of it I didnt miss much in terms of competitive gameplay. I believe Dallas should be putting Nowitzki on Stoudamire, he is the only one on Dallas that is not only tall enough to alter some shots from him but can move his feet better then someone like Dampier, I honestly think if they benched Dampier and started Stackhouse that Dallas could win, of course coupled with Nowitzki defending Stoudamire. I dont want to sound like I think I know everything but if I was Dallas I would put Nowitzki on Stoudamire, Howard on Marion, Terry of course on Nash, Stackhouse on Johnson and Finley on Richardson and go with that small lineup which will also help to get back on the fast break when Phoenix likes to run. This also might wear down Amare since he will be forced to come out and defend Nowitzki since he cant defend any of the smaller players. What is your guys' take on it?

I dont think it'll help. Nowitzki is one of my favorite players but I really doubt he can even come close to defending Amare. He's just too strong and too fast for Dirk out there. I think it'd be better to use Dirk elsewhere. Playing down low isnt one of his stronger points anyway. I think they want Dirk to have a mismatch outside against Marion, and they hope he can exploit it. I think they should just let Amare do his damage and worry about perimeter defense, but then again, they'll just dump it off to Amare.

It's hard to come up with a gameplan against my team!
