Re: Signs point to Nash being named MVP

    Am I missing something here?

Every time I've seen Miami, Dwayne Wade has been their MVP.

I've only seen them about 15 times this season...but he's been 'the man' every time. If anyone on Miami deserved it, it's him.

Overall NASH was clearly the MVP. Anyone who says ANY other PG could have impacted that Suns team like he has knows nothing about basketball.

His passing is sublime...he's taken that team to a new stratosphere.

I think that JKidd would have had a very similar impact on the Suns. He pushes the ball just as much and he passes better than Nash IMO. He also plays better D than Nash. The knock on Kidd tho is that he really can't shoot the rock all that well and he was hurt at the beginning of the year. Nash shot the ball at about 50%. That's amazing for a guard. Plus, he's never really missed too many games, tho he has been hurt.

In any case, like I mentioned, Nash is very deserving of this award. Congrats for him.

LOL@ this thread. I understand now.

I guess if you're Canadian or a Suns fan, you agree with the voting.

15PPG & 11APG are not MVP type numbers.

Did Allen Iverson not will his team into the playoffs? LeBron had his team on the cusp of the playoffs. Kidd had no one around him for a long time. Etc.,etc.

Steve Nash is a joke of a PG. I always felt that way. Sorry. And he's playing the same exact brand of ball that he played in Dallas. He's not even the best PG in the league. That's saying something.

Shaq, AI, McGrady, and Wade are all most MVP-worthy rather than Nash.

I'll say it..Your arguments are horrible...Seems like you have a personal vandetta against Nash so I won't even try a rebuttle as it's useless.

He's not even the best PG in the league. That's saying something.

Tim Duncan > Jason Kidd and Shaq > Nash.......

Similar situations but this time they go with the PG. I honestly cant see how he is the MVP of the league with the amount of talent on the team. Yes Shaq has D wade, but lets not get it twisted the Guard Father will cause a skewed view of a great shooting guard's ability. On the other hand Nash has a top 5 scorer, 2 all star players (MArion was always a allstar), one of the better young sg/sf in the L when it comes to shooting the 3 Q Rich, and Joe Johnson sure aint bad at all. Nash is a initiator, but without finishers what is he...........Brevin Knight?

Re: Signs point to Nash being named MVP

Amare upped his FG % 10 point from last season to this season.

Marion and JJ improved by 4%...

Have people seen the passes that Nash has made to Amare this season? The penetrating and finding the open man by Nsh hasn't been done this well in a very long time. He's been able to find Marion on the break and JJ and Q on the wings for open shots. There's a reason why they all had their best season's to date.

And if you're gonna give the MVP to anyone other Nash,I think it should go to Wade,Dirk or maybe even Arenas.Shaq didn't have one of his best seasons.

who said NUMBERS play a factor in winning MVP? IM gettin real sick of sayin this...Take a look @ the suns last year....take a look @ them now...enuff said...AMare would not be avg'in 26 a game if it was 4 nash...he makes things easier for his team.....and since u wanna play numbers...wht otha guard shot a higher percentage than nash and avg more assists than nash? O....okay jus checkin. And uhm numbers wise....this coulda been shaqs worse season...He didnt do anything spectacular either...yea he did take pressure off of Wade but regardless...Wade woulda been this good anyway. Look @ the games shaq missed and check wades numbers...Like I said Nash deserved MVP PG's are not suppose to be big scoring threats so iono y u threw numbers in this equation...Nash had a career year in phx and He deserved MVP he took the worst team in the L and made em the best (record wise) Nuff Said

The Suns have made vast improvement this season and the Nash to Stoudamire connection is probably one of the best in the NBA. Steve Nash is the glue that holds the Suns together. Did you forget early in the season when Nash was out for a period of time?

Now I know that in this day and age everyone expects an MVP to have oulandish numbers but it's nice to see a league give the award to someone who has been a TRUE mvp for their team. This is the crowning achievement in Nash's career. (unless the Suns win it all this season) The Wades, T-Macs and Tim Duncans will get their MVPs in the coming years.

Let's not hate on someone who has been TRULY valuable to his team. Let's remember it's a team sport and individual stats can sometimes be decieving.

You guys are idiots for trying to say Nash doesn't deserve the MVP. They won 62 effing games on his back. Remember when they were 31-4, then lost 6 straight because he got injured? Yeah, if any of you would actually watch the Suns, which i know none of you have, you'd see that they go completely flat when he's out of the game. They showed a stat in one of the playoff games, Nash has the 2nd biggest impact in terms of +/- points when he's in/out of the game, i believe only AI has the better ratio.

It's not the best player award, its the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER award, and Nash was far and away the most valuable player for the Suns, who won a league leading 62 games. He made them go.

I don't see how some of you are so blind to see what he did for that team. You can make a debate for AI, but to say Nash didn't deserve it is just ********.

The award is not defensive player of the year, It is not best two way player. It is about who more than any other player, makes the biggest difference and is more valuable to their team. When nash was hurt, it showed more than ever that he is by far more valuable to his team than any other player except perhaps AI. However, the suns had a huge turnaround, and Amare and Marion improved drastically with nash.

I fail to see why this is controversial.
