    Re: 2006-2007 Official Cavaliers Thread

Did anyone catch the Bron interview on 1100? The host asked him what new wrinkle to his game would unleash this season. He said that while he won't totally abandon the perimiter game, he's put a ton of work into perfecting his low-post game. He said he wanted to be able to get easier buckets so he could devote his energy to wrinkle #2...his goal this season os to make 1st team all-D.

    Go Cavs!!!

Is there any room on the Cavs bandwagon? I haven't had a favorite team since I was about ten and watching the Bulls win championships. The last few years I've just been a fan of any team playing the Lakers. From today forward however, I think I'll cheer for Cleveland.

HMc... what do you expect tomorrow night? I'm looking at us running the floor quite a bit. I can't wait to see LBJ attack constantly. Once he gets down low, I'm looking for quite a bit of showtime passing on backdoor cuts. It's going to look good for sure.

I look for LeBron to really showcase his new low-post game, and I expect Hughes to be very, VERY aggressive. All i've been hearing is how the city hasn't gotten to see the "real" Larry Hughes. I hope they're right. Marshall and Jones both look to be in great shape, so i expect that our vets will look good too. I hope they make a similar statement that the Bulls made tonight.

I dunno what to expect overall though. I want to say that from what I've seen in the pre-season, the Cavs should be obscene this year...but I'm a homer and I always think that. I thought the Wagner/Davis/Miles Cavs were going to be tough, and those tools only put up 17 wins. I'm just praying for good health for the boys, and I think we'll challenge for the East, definitely. I do expect Drew and Varejao to break out this year.

45 Wins? That would be a MAJOR dissappointment for me. If we don't surpass the 50 win mark, I would not consider this a decent season. I've got really high expectations for our Cavs this year. I want to say we'll push for 60 wins. As long as we can stay healthy, we stand a really good chance to hit 60.

A sloppy win for the Cavs last night. Far too many TOs, allowed PIP, and missed FTs. A win is a win, though, and a good start to the season.

It seems like they picked up right where they left off last season though with some 4th quarter beasting. HMcCoy was right, and Hughes tore it up last night. Drew left a good impression on me too.

Am I the only one that thinks the new court is an eyesore?

                            - Gooden looked strong. That tip bang off the Z miss was especially impressive. Watching it in slo-mo, he showed great instinct and explosion on that. Sometimes you forget how potent Drew can be when he's focused.

-Z was absolutely aweful. I've been a Illgo supporter but this was just terrible. I look for the team to pick him up, but damn. He not only failed to take advantage of a major size mismatch, but let Eton look like the damn Dream until Jordan lost him on the bench. Who would take him though?

-Wesley also looked putrid. Not only missed open shots, made several horrible passes. Bad start.

-Love the new chemistry between Larry and Lebron.

                            Go Cavs!

I didn't get to watch the game, but regarding Z, I don't think anyone will take him.. I'd like to see the Cavaliers in more of a running game. Not Phoenix style, but more uptempo, and they can't do it with Z.

Watching the highlights, Larry and LBJ looked to work really well together, and like you said, Drew played a strong game. Not sure on Wesley... but I think it'll just take him a few games to adjust to playing w/ LBJ and company.

Can't wait to see how we do against SA tomorrow.

If you care about Zydrunas as a human being, be thankful you missed this game. It wasn't pretty. I wish we could dump the contract while it still has a shred of value. Andy can definitely start at center, imo.
