As mentioned above, having three guys (your star players too) that can knock down free throws is huge. I forgot that Billups was money from the line. Goodness that's a deadly thing to have.

Funny what D'Antoni said at the post-game. Mentioned how Billups can knock down free throws at 92% and then said: "That's because he hasn't been coached by us. He will get to 95%."

One thing that's true about the Knicks is they've always been a good free throw shooting team. It's even more of an issue for the opposition because Amar'e and Anthony will get to the line 16 times in a game. And Billups looks like he'll get his fair share shooting technical free throws and late-game foul shots.

So true man. I forgot about it as well. Billups had a bad shooting night going 4-12 from the field, 1-6 from 3pt land and still managed to score 21 points because he went 12-12 from the line.

I've done a complete 180 about this trade. I like!!

One thing that's kinda got me "concerned" was the post game interview with Melo. If you notice the minute that Stat got here his whole mentality was "the team" and he seemed to get everyone else to buy into it. After every interview the players would give the team props before anything else. You never heard Stat saying something like "Yo I just nutted out there. I went for self and did my thing" and that was it. Melo's interview kinda concerned me as I don't think he every gave any props to the team except maybe one line. Douglas was skeeting out there and kept the Knicks in that game where Melo and Billups was coming up short. I just hope that the team chemistry doesn't take a hit. You need that in a championship team.

To be fair, it was his day. All the questions were about Melo. The crowd was chanting "Melooo! Melooo" during the interview. I wouldn't read too much into it right now.

Agreed. It was his day.

Obviously Melo realizes he is the bigger star but he knows Amar'e won the hearts first. And Amar'e is very very vocal. He won't be afraid to remind teammates that it's about team.

I think Carmelo is ready to acknowledge that it takes a team. He is friends with Stoudemire and I don't think he would have joined him if he didn't know that it takes sacrifice.

But that's part of the growth. Forget plays and diagrams. Melo is gonna have some bumps in remembering, realizing that he isn't the only option.

Last night was good for the fans. STAT took a seat and what we feared most late in a game was resolved because we have another top option.

Next time it'll be big for them when each has to share the rock in a close game. It'll take time.

Jared Jeffries is working on a buyout with Houston, word is we are his first preference.

Jeffries and Brewer aren't bad defenders though you just know Brewer will never see the floor. Even the Landlord should be able to give us 15 minutes to rebound at the 5 but he's not seeing the light of day either.

JJ, is a good signing for the Knicks. Remember he's not here to score, he's here to get some rebounds & defend. Last year when we played our best stretch of ball JJ started & played some really good defense.

He's also ideal due to us always switching on defense & him being able to defend all positions due to his length. Not to mention he knows the system.

As much as i hated Smith for missing those layups(he was fouled!) he helped us get to that position. But i digress.

I hated Jared Jeffries at his VALUE then. As it's been said, it's not his fault he was overpaid. Remember he did lead the league in charges right up until we traded him. With Amare's and Melo's defensive ineptitude (hopefully Karl's comments last night lit a fire under him) I'll welcome JJ back, as long as he's properly priced.
