Word is Marshon Brooks did very well yesterday in his workout. Not to mention Melo was all saliva for the kid..

According to Chris Sheridan of ESPN:

Marshon Brooks, Providence: To hear Thompson tell it, there was plenty of mustard on this hot dog in the one-on-one and 3-on-3 scrimmages. We would love to confirm that, but the Knicks do not allow reporters to view their workouts. Brooks hit 19 of 25 attempts from 3-point range and -- according to Thompson -- hit a bunch of sick jumpers despite being closely defended. "He hit some tough shots, and that's what he's going to do, he's a real good player. I thought I stayed in front of him pretty well, but I just got to keep on working on contesting those shots, because he hit a few jumpers over me that are tough shots -- but at the next level those are easy shots for a lot of players." He is regarded as one of the best athletes in the draft, whose production was held down last season because he played out of position at Providence. Chad Ford is particularly enamored of him, and he and trainer Tim Grover had a conversation in which the name Kobe Bryant came to mind.

Donnie gets us out of salary cap hell and he is not rewarded because Dolan won't give him full reign over basketball operations.

We will never know the real story. Walsh just had a conference call. He stated it was mutual. He didn't want a multi year deal, dolan wanted him for 2 more years.

Walsh also has health issues & is 70 yrs old.

He seem genuine in his call. Wish him well

Jeff Van Gundy wants no part of Dolan.

This Walsh move was nothing but a firing. Dolan low-balled him knowing Walsh wouldn't go for less money/less power. He gave Walsh the middle finger. So why would any competent GM come here with Dolan over his shoulder?

So Dolan will hire one of his yes-men and the Knicks will go back to being a laughingstock.

True both ways.

I'm almost getting the feeling that Dolan is having a Steinbrenner problem. When Torre was at the helm of those four championships, credit was going to Torre's managing and Steinbrenner hated it.

The Knicks are fixed and a guy like Dolan, who thinks he knows more basketball than anyone, is probably unhappy that Walsh is getting the credit.

Walsh will always carry the credit for fixing this team. He brought in Stoudemire and Anthony. He gave the Knicks cap space. He made them a playoff team again. He may not have always agreed with the moves, but no one will remember that years from now. They'll just remember he was the man, the same way we remember Layden and Thomas were bums that messed everything up.

Miami, Chicago, Boston - you cats think our front office can get us to the level of those teams with Dolan and his yes-men running MSG? I don't.
