Forward Derrick Brown got his qualifying offer today, remaining restricted. The Knicks can match, but won't if he is offered a two-year deal because they want to protect their 2012 cap space.

I'm still not sure this team wins a championship with that roster and one of those big men. Better team? Sure. Championship? Nah.

Knicks are years away from being championship caliber. I don't care how many stars they bring in, until this team makes a committment to toughness, defense and rebounding, they'll never be on Miami, Chicago or even the aging Celtics level. Say what you want to about LeBron and Wade, but they play defense. Our stars need to wake up. That's why we need a coach(and staff) who'll teach these fools the fundamentals of solid team defense, and hold them accountable. This "Phoenix Suns-East" crap makes me want to throw up.

I can't wait for Pringles to be shown the door. Let him take his 'sissyball' back to the west coast. We have to suffer another season with this a**clown.

As we reported Wednesday, the Knicks finally did not have to pay a luxury tax this July after being one of the tax-paying leaders for many years. The Players Association and league are finishing up the final audit this week. The Knicks’ payroll finished 2010-11 at $67 million — $9M over the cap mostly due to the Carmelo trade. But they fell $3 million lower than the luxury-tax threshold. What did it get president Donnie Walsh for saving Dolan all that tax money while getting the Knicks in the playoffs? It surely didn’t get Walsh his final $5 million option year in which Dolan could have exercised last spring instead of trying to negotiate an awkward extension. Dolan didn’t want Walsh to have the full $5 million during a lockout season. After all the money Walsh saved Dolan with his responsible payroll cuts, Walsh deserved a $5 million bonus.

It's funny - Dolan was fine throwing away millions under Isiah's watch, but he won't pay a little extra to keep the man who straightened out Zeke's mess. Just proves having loot doesn't equal class.

I think scumbag fits Dolan perfectly. Dude's one of the worst owners in professional sports. Nothing but a rich man's son who has no clue on how to run a franchise. He treats Isiah Thomas better than the man who spent two years straightening out Zeke's bad contracts. What does that tell you? He's the east coast Donald Sterling. The Knicks will shine again only when he is no longer running the team. I truly believe it.

I will agree that he is a horrible owner who has no clue about the game. As far as the east coast version of Sterling on a stupidity level I'd agree but Sterling is a cheapskate if I ever saw one...@ least Dolan will throw down the paper (even if it's misguided most of the time).
