MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread

I know I'm pretty new here and I probably have no business creating anything "official" but...I'm doing it anyways.
I'm liking this team right now. A lot of versatility, a lot of tenacity and defensive-orientated players. That's the kind of team I'm attracted to (or maybe it's because I live in North Carolina)

Either way, we have a lot of talent on this roster and I can only pray that we repeat and/or exceed our success last season and make the playoffs again.

Guys that need to step up...Boris Diaw. To say that he can play ARGUABLY 4 positions (SG to C), you'd think he'd be a little more effective. I like him a lot but the dude's gotta produce.

If G-Force stays healthy and the team can fill in their roles they way they are supposed to, we will be a force to recognize.

    LET'S GO BOBCATS!
    Carolina Panthers|Charlotte Bobcats|Duke Blue Devils

Think about the unthinkable in order to make it thinkable and that way, no one ever has to think about it again. It's a theory
I'm so theoretical and unimaginable you can almost say I don't exist.

Promising year so far just based on the roster though.

Najera, T. Thomas, Diop, this are pieces that LB likes to build around. Still no "star" player with great leadership but the season has yet to start and we play in the East. Can't really be that hard to claim 7th or 8th seed.

DJ looked very good last night against the Heat. Poised, aggressive when he needed to be, and ran the team well. I hope that it continues once the regular season begins. I was pretty pessimistic about the playoffs, and I still am. But, I really liked what I saw last night. They all looked like they improved during the summer. Even Diop. He shot a whopping 25% from the line, which is slightly above his career average.

Anyone else thinking that LB's seat is getting warm? Some of the players seem to be tuning him out.

This team should really have a better record. 6-12 isn't what I anticipated. This team should be slightly above .500 at this point.

I wish we would get rid of LB. He holds us back. We have a limited future and to much on the books.

He is a great coach, but I agree.

I think his system is holding back this team. It's like they aren't playing basketball, they are just trying to conform to plays that are called.

I wouldn't be surprised if Phil Ford takes the helm before the year is over.

Paul Silas' first practice as the new interim coach of the Charlotte Bobcats Thursday had one noteworthy twist.Instead of practicing with a 24-second shot clock, the Bobcats worked with a 14-second shot clock.

It's all part of Silas' plan to play up-tempo basketball -- a stark contrast to the style of his predecessor, Larry Brown, who was fired on Wednesday.

"I want to bring some energy to this ball club," Silas said after being introduced as the fourth head coach in franchise history. "I want us to get up and down and let it all hang out. If they don't want to get up and down, they can come sit down by me."

The Bobcats currently rank 29th in the NBA in scoring, averaging 91.7 points a game. Only Milwaukee is averaging fewer points. The Bobcats have averaged just 80.2 points during their current four-game losing streak and have not scored 100 since beating Denver 100-98 on Dec. 7.

"We've got shooters," Silas said. "We've got defenders. We've got shot blockers. We've got all the ingredients that you need. The guys just have to get out and play and believe in themselves and believe that I believe in them. I've found that if you have a confident player, it's unbelievable what he can do."
Yes, yes, and yes. This is exactly the change that this team needs. LB's constant browbeating beat the life out of them.

I like that A LOT. I'm glad to see Silas bringing more uptempo game. It will hopefully lead to more effort and excitement from the vets like GW and Jax and the young guys like DJ and Tyrus too.

We need another scorer off the bench.

You know, I would be okay with keeping Coach Silas after this year, the players seem to be playing well for him. Plus, thank god for Coach Oakley, KwaMVP has really turned around since he has been here.

I agree Marino, and for all the people who are still laughing at Kwame Brown, he is playing the best basketball of his career thanks to Oakley. He's had a double double two night in a row and he's playing smart too. Flashing open and passing when he needs to, boxing out all the time, and getting stick backs.

I'm really happy to have him here. I hope Silas and Oakley and the whole crew stick around. This team is turning around despite skepticism. The guys are playing with the right attitude right now too. Even with Steven Jackson's occasional antics.

Great win last night, probably the biggest of the season. We have to win Wednesday against Indiana. No excuses.

I completely agree on both points. The Celtics game was great even w/ all the funny business.

The only thing I can even say about tonight's game is that those 3 officials need to be suspended, fined, or something. How the HELL do 3 officials not blow the whistle on an obvious foul? The league needs to review the tape on this one.
