They won't, I don't know what it is about the NBA refs and Charlotte, but it is getting old.

Re: MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread
Well we lost one to the refs tonight. In the fourth quarter the refs handed it to the Pacers... One whistle when Granger was trapped on the sideline with 4 seconds left on the 24, resulting in 4 points on the ensuing play(s). Ref said, Hey I thought he was gonna call a timeout but he didn't, my bad...
Then the end of the game, with the score 104 Pacers, 103 Bobcats -- Pacers miss the shot, Crash rebounds the ball, 7 seconds on the clock, hands to Jack and he pushes down the court for a final shot, fouled by Collison but no whistle, game over. One of the refs even made the motion for the foul, just no whistle, game over. And fouls cannot be reviewed. Down by one with 3 shots from Jack, the game would have at least went to over time, chances of Jack missing 3 straight are nigh impossible.
With that said we could have played better throughout but overall it was a solid effort and we deserved the win, but it was taken away from us. If this wasn't such an important game it would have less effect, but this was the only chance for a tiebreaker other than with Detroit, as far as the playoff picture is concerned. Next game Friday @ Charlotte vs Nets.Last edited by bSmooth; 02-09-2011, 10:50 PM.Comment

Re: MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread
I am pleased with the picks last night. Bismack is very raw, but with Charles Oakley working with him I am confident he will be a good player. Excited that Kemba is coming to Charlotte. Should be some great competition between he and D.J.
Sad to see Jackson go, but such is the nature of the beast. At least we won't get as many T's.
Worst case, we get the worst record in the league next year. And get Harrison Barnes next year.
I wonder what the chances are that we sign J.R. Smith?Last edited by LingeringRegime; 06-24-2011, 05:13 PM.Comment

Re: MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread
I was very pleased when the Cats took Kemba Walker. He'll have a good chance at getting ROY on this team next season. And I like taking a chance on Biyombo. He could turn out to be a key piece of the future. Now it's just wait for the lockout to end, and ride out the season until the next draft. Can't wait for the class of 2012 to come to the league. I'm pretty sure most of us want Harrison Barnes. We're pretty dry at the wing positions.Link to my NBA 2K13 2010-2011 Roster:

Re: MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread
Alright fellas. Lockout is over. What does this team look like when they lift the curtain on Dec. 9?
These are the guys we have under contract and their reported salary for 2011-2012:
Projected Starters as of Dec 3, 2011
PG DJ Augustin - $3,236,469
SG Gerald Henderson - $2,250,600
SF Corey Maggette -$10,262,069
PF Boris Diaw - $9,000,000
C Tyrus Thomas - $7,305,785
Bench
C DeSagana Diop - $6,925,400
SG Matt Carroll - $3,900,000
PF/C Eduardo Najera - $2,600,000
PF DJ White - $2,001,167
SF/PF Dante Cunningham - $1,059,293
2011-2012 Total Team Salary - $47,481,490
Draft Picks:
PG/SG Kemba Walker - approximately $2,400,000 (based on the past two picks @ #9 overall)
F/C Bismack Biyombo - approximately $2,800,000 (based on the last two picks @ #7 overall)
Notes: Kemba will be there to start the season but Biyombo has to get out of his contract with a Spanish League. The NBA and the Bobcats are trying to get it done before training camps open on the 9th, but it isn't guaranteed. His Spanish team wants seven figures to buy him out. They have a civil trial scheduled for Dec. 19, but nobody wants to see it go that late. In other words, we are wait and see on Biyombo's deal and when he can officially join the roster.
The Bobcats are considering using the amnesty clause on DeSagana Diop, who has $14,297,600 left on his deal assuming he uses his player option next year (and he would). So the cap relief is obvious. Two things. The new salary floor is around $49-50 million & some are saying the 'Cats are going to wait and see how he looks in camp after Achilles surgery last season. I think the opportunity to get out of the worst contract on the team can't be missed.
Who knows how active MJ and Higgins are going to be in free agency? Rumors say they want Kwame Brown back but he may want more than they are willing to pay for a stop-gap player. They obviously want to build around youth. The front office also wants another guard with some size to backup Henderson.
What do you think Cats fans? I know we aren't supposed to make any noise this year, but I'm still excited to see this edition on the court.Last edited by JohnDoe8865; 12-03-2011, 04:05 PM.Favorite Sports Teams

Thanks JD for the updates. I am excited to see Kembasmack.
We need to be bad enough to get Harrison Barnes. If so the season will be a success.
EDIT: I am all for signing Morrison again. I think Larry Brown ruined him early on.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 12-05-2011, 05:34 PM.Comment

Re: MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread
Question Bobcats fans, should Charlotte take a flier on Hasheem Thabeet, who was just amnestied in Houston? He's cheaper and bound to be at least as effective as DeSagna Diop, LOL.
Also, my wishlist for the Bobcats before the beginning of the season -
1) Sign SF Reggie Williams to a 2 or 3 yr deal.
2) Resign C Kwame Brown to a 2 or 3 yr deal.
3) Give SG/SF Adam Morrison a camp invite to Bobcats camp.
With the addition of Derrick Brown, the Cats are at 13 players right now. Add those three guys and we have a solid amount of bodies for TC and then MJ can decide who makes the final cut.
If we can sign Williams and Kwame and maybe take a 1 yr shot on Morrison, than I think we can amnesty Diop and still stay at the salary floor.
This would be my ideal roster considering our realistic options -
Starters
PG DJ Augustin - $3,236,469
SG Gerald Henderson - $2,250,600
SF Corey Maggette -$10,262,069
PF Boris Diaw - $9,000,000
C Tyrus Thomas - $7,305,785
Bench
C Kwame Brown - ~ $4,000,000
SG Matt Carroll - $3,900,000
SF Reggie Williams ~$3,500,000
F/C Bismack Biyombo - ~ $2,800,000
PF/C Eduardo Najera - $2,600,000
PG/SG Kemba Walker - ~$2,400,000
PF DJ White - $2,001,167
SF/PF Dante Cunningham - $1,059,293
SF Derrick Brown - ~ $1,000,000
*Additions/resignings from 2010 roster in italics*

Re: MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread
Well now that Kwame signed with Golden State - http://www.sfexaminer.com/sports/nba...losing-c-brown
Coach Paul Silas said he expects 6-foot-8 Boris Diaw to start at center for the rebuilding Bobcats.
Diaw averaged 8.8 points per game last season, but only 2.8 rebounds.
Silas said it would be difficult to imagine using Diaw too much right now, adding that "he's not in the best of shape."
Silas said rookie Bismack Biyombo can also play some center once his contract issue is resolved.
Diop could at some point assume the starting role at center, but he's not ready to do that now.
He said his knee is still giving him some problems as a spinoff from his Achilles' problem.
"I think I have a long way to go," Diop said. "I have to drop a few more pounds, but I'm going to keep working. It won't take me a long time. I lose weight pretty quick."Favorite Sports Teams

Re: MJ's New Team- Official Charlotte Bobcats Thread
I honesty believe, as much I hate to say it, that the only thing keeping this year's Bobcats from challenging the single season loss record is the lockout.I get the end game, but suck now win later sucks for fans.
Cap wise, 26 mil between Maggette,Thomas and Diaw makes me want to vomit.Comment
