Watching Baron Davis last year with the Clips, he was more than capable of effectively running the pick and roll. Lob City existed before CP3 got there.

I didn't watch him at all last year, so this is good to know.

My memory of Baron Davis is watching him dribble the ball up past midcourt and then pull up for a three. That or endlessly dribbling in an attempt to get by his defender to only then jack up a bad shot because the shot clock was winding down.

Granted he does good things too. I just can't stomach the bad because I already see that nonsense from Douglas who is basically just the more taller, more quiet version of Nate Robinson.

He's more of a PG than anybody else on our roster. He chucks for sure, but his court vision and passing ability are on par with some of the best in the league. Unlike Shump or TD, he's actually better off with the basketball in his hands than playing off it. The chucking and his health/conditioning scare me, but I feel like he'll understand his role as a 3rd option.

Watched my first game since Lin has started. Lin is legit. A Playmaking point guard. Not saying he's going to be an all-star or a great pg, but he is showing that he may be able to play very well in this system. Watching him run the p&r with chandler is a thing of beauty. Hope my man Melo is watching closely. He will need to adjust his game some. All our talk about Baron and he may end up being the backup.

My mind is blown at how well he' s playin right now, if he turns out to be the real deal, its gonna be a very interesting second half. I do think one of the big two might be on the move though

Thank God for Jeremy Lin! It is beautiful watching him and Chandler run that pick and roll to perfection. I hope STAT and Melo can be integrated back into the mix without killing our ball movement. Let Lin run the show.

The perfect storm is brewing right now. We're going to possibly have issues shortly despite the improved play.

1) Chandler's emergence is going to leave a lot of questions for Stat. Why do the Knicks need to players playing off the PnR that can seemingly do the same thing? You see what a true stretch 4 can do for us last night.

2) Lin to be as effective as he is demands the ball in his hands. You saw it a bit when Melo was there - the offense runs through Lin, as scary as that is to say. It's nice and all, but once defenses adjust and stop his penetration, Lin hasn't proven he can be consistent from outside. Although hey, it works for Boston...

3) If the offense is run through Lin, Melo won't have the ball in his hands to stagger the offense. Is this a good or bad thing? Does Melo get upset when he's not the focal point anymore, even if they are winning? For all the hate on D'Antoni, THIS is how his offense wins games, not with Melo being a black hole.

Lots of questions we'll have to see what the answers are soon...

If Melo pouts and D'Antoni gives him the ball to run the offense, I'll have new reason to want D'Antoni fired.

As it is right now, if D'Antoni keeps riding Lin like Secretariat (as he so eloquently put it) then I can't be upset with the coach because at least he saw an opportunity and took it. Is this his saving grace? Perhaps, yes. Do I still think D'Antoni is stubborn as crap? Of course. But, if he has the guy to run his offense then I can't say much. D'Antoni's offense is a beautiful thing when the right guy is running it.

I agree that they will need to figure it out with STAT and Chandler. The bonus is the Knicks have been willing to run pick and rolls to death once Lin took charge. Like Lin said, "We probably ran it over 100 times against [the Wizards]."

So if that's the case, it could boost the offense to know two men capable of playing off the pick and roll can do so effectively. If the defender doesn't slide down for STAT, then Chandler can set up on the other side and see if that works.

And that's not mentioning the potential to give STAT space to take that elbow jumper if teams start following Chandler to the basket after the Pick and Roll. Lin won't need to worry about his jump shot (like Rondo and Boston as Pared points out).

Boston ran a similar set with Perkins and Garnett when both acted as the Pick and Roll screener on the floor. STAT can hit the jumpshot which makes him the Garnett in this situation.

The Knicks don't necessarily have a Ray Allen, but they do have a Paul Pierce in Carmelo Anthony.

I think they'll be fine so long as Lin continues to hold the ball. Melo is gonna have to accept averaging 20 a game instead of 25. But, hey, if he remembers anything, one of his lowest scoring seasons is the same year his team went to the WCF. So...
