I'd have no issue maxing out guys like Bazemore or Batum. They are the type of players I want around the young guys. Bazemore's stats are deceptive, this guy plays with a lot of heart on both ends and he has talent. He still has room for improvement aswell.

I don't mind the signing. I just hope he gonna be healthy. He can play if healthy. Sets good screens, roll hard, finish strong, doesn't complain.

But for that price though man?

IDK, it seems crazy even though I understand the Cap is much higher but dam.. I'd rather have Biyombo.

I hope we can sign a 3 & D player like Bazemore or, *gasp*, Harrison Barnes. Offensively, we should be fine. But we will need court spacing and mainly, defense because all we have are liabilities when we defend.

Mozgov can actually shoot/pass the ball something byombo can't. Byombo was 5 and 8 this season how is he suddenly that much better ?

Mozgov will be used to go big and will play under 30 minutes a game. He's a legit 7'1. He sets good screen and can roll hard to the basket. Sure it's not a very sexy signing but I'am waiting for the argument on how Byombo is that much better.

If healthy he will help that team and fill a role. We can discuss the price but if the lakers want to sign anybody they have to overpay. It's that simple.

I agree Mozgov, numbers wise, is a better player offensively. But would you disagree Byombo is not the better defender? Also his health is not a liability.

The main reason I preferred Byombo is due to being a good rim protector, can run the floor (Seems like that may be Walton philosophy), rolls hard to the basket and sets good screens.

Mozgov seems more like a half court Center with less defensive abilities. I don't think Byombo is a better player, just a better fit with what we needed at the position.

We'll have to agree to disagree on who fits better but otherwise I'am with you. I just hope Mozgov's knee is healed properly by now.

Yeah man. At the end of the day, I am MUCH happier that we have Mozgov instead of Hibbert. I am just being picky.

I like the Deng signing a lot. We tried to get Bazemore and that failed so Deng was the appropriate route. A versatile Wing that defends multiple positions and is a solid shooter. A veteran 3 & D with some slashing abilities.

It makes me wonder who's coming off the bench.

I think our wildcards this year are going to be Russell and Randle. Can Randle develop his post-up and mid-range game more, and can Russell be more consistent under Walton running the offense.

Yeah Deng was the third best SF available and probably the only one we had a shot at. Bazemore was very unlikely to come back to L.A. It's a great signing he totally fits in.

Agree with Russell and Randle and don't sleep on Clarkson. He's gonna be a lot better within Walton's offense this year.

What's definately worrysome about thoses signing is the lenght of thoses contracts. However Mozgov's contract is really 3 years/48mil. It's likely the lakers had no choice but to offer that kind of guaranties to get them.

If things go right the lakers could jump from 17wins to within 28 - 35 wins range. That would be a noticeable improvement.

The Lakers are expected to trade or waive Nick Young before training camp http://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2...waive-stretch?
