Re: Mayweather vs. Gatti: June 25

i dont think that will continue man, as big of a prick as u are, if you can dominate a fight agaisnt great fighters (maybe cotto, hatton) then ppl will just appreciate you for your skills.

Many people didn't like mayweather because they all thought he didnt have the goods, and never faced a true true hard puncher thus his loud mouth was just seen as empty arrogance , if he goes out and puts a show like this tonight agaisnt hatton or cotto , ppl will be convinced man, this guy has GOT the goods, and can back up the talk

FMJ is now the official Terrell Owens of boxing. He talks whole lot and you love to hate him, but you respect him because he talks the talk and walks the walk.

Thanks for the info regarding the ending.

No doubt he's entertaining and a good boxer. He does backup his talk as well so I gotta give him that. Put it this way, I'd never bet against him because I don't see too many guys (if any) that can beat him.

Gatti was always overrated.. He's not very skilled.. He has intangiables though.. Tons of heart & courage, & the ability to come back after absorbing large amounts of punishment..

Look at some of the fighters he lost to..
          Ivan Robinson. (Twice)
          Micky Ward.
          Angel Manfredy.

          Not exactlly world beaters here..

I think Hatton would fare much better then Gatti..

All this talk about FMJ being a arse hole is over blown...

There has to be a Hero and a villian sometimes you can play the Hero and sell tickets if there is a good villian example if you are palying the Yankees.... if not yo might have to switch roles to get fans in to watch especially with boxing. Many people watched tonight thing he would get knocked out even hoping and wishing he accomplished all that he wanted in this fight.

            1. Sold tickets and ppv orders
            2. Dominated a supposedly good opponent
            3. Shut up every one who thought he couldn't back up the talk.

Cosign 100%. We'll see what Hopkins can do against the young and hungry Taylor, but right now, Floyd Mayweather is my favorite fighter and quite possibly the best pound for pound fighter in the world today. That was simply UNBELIEVABLE. And for those of you who ordered the fight like I did, Pretty Boy gave all the credit in the world to Gatti after the fight; all that talk is to sell tickets, he can talk with the greats. If you're that good, I defy you NOT to know it! As far as I'm concerned, the division goes through Mayweather, he's the best conditioned athlete I've seen in quite some time and his handspeed and in-ring prowess is something to behold. This kid has me taken a back.

Beatdown city. Floyd is so fast, like Roy used to be. Those fighters are fun to watch. The image of Gatti getting that mouthpiece taken out was scary. His face was f'ed up bad.

Scary thing is he pound for pound he is a harder puncher than
Jones. Like I said before it was a 2 for 1 special everytime Gatti tried to get close his jab was way to slow for Floyd

I don't disagree with that, but I wouldn't take anything away from FMJ either. He's a very good boxer and I don't really see anyone right now that's going to beat him. Hatton would fare better than Gatti (although that doesn't say much), but I think he'd lose as well.

I'm not.. He beat Corrales easy.. 5 knockdowns.. I stil think Castillo beat him 3 yrs ago though.. Their First fight Was a controversial dec for Floyd. I doubt Hatton could beat Floyd, but he'd do better then Gatti..

No.. I diagree.. Floyd does have deceptive power.. But nothing in Jones league.. in regards to pound for pound..

Floyd is an arse. How many times has he beaten his wife? Domestic abuse.. In 98 he referred to the contract HBO gave me as 'slave wages'.. 11 million.. 4 fights.. Floyd can't sell PPV on his own.. Only reason why this was on PPV was because he was fighting Gatti.. Floyd been champion since 98 & this is his first main event PPV fight.. The first Castillo fight was supposed to be on PPV, but Arum got smart & realized it wouldn't sell.. Floyd isn't like Leonard. Holyfield. Tyson. De La Hoya..Camacho. Duran. He can't sell on his own..

He pled no contest so he could take this fight, no?Did that have to do with domestic abuse, or was it an incident at a bar fight.

Ya Floyd is really good and focused. I loved how they said he would spar 10 to 15 minute rounds aganst different fighters and their styles. No one works that hard.
