Sickening finding - EA sells out to Burger King

Not only did EA sell out to Burger King but in the career mode you can pick the freaky big headed Burger King dude from the commercials as a trainer to escort you to the ring.... No I am not kidding. So 60 bucks for this game is not enough EA? Kudo needs his *** fired for this kinda crap.. This is just disgusting..

I remember Kudo saying what an embarrassment Big Tigger was for FN rd 1 and now this?

Good god 2K6 team come out with a boxing game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was revealed in screenshots before the release, but I agree, it's lame that EA lets marketing infiltrate a game. I thought 2K/VC had in a press release (about their entire lineup) that they're working on a boxing game. Depending on how big Fight Night's numbers are going to be, I doubt they'll risk being number 2 in sales for another sports subgenre, though.

Does it really bother you that much? I go to baseball games and there are ad's everywhere, and every pitch is sponsored by something. Same when I watch boxing on TV, the weigh in has a sponsor, they are all over the ring, signs everywhere. While there are a lot of BK signs, to me, it's just like a real event.

Plus, The King is awesome!

Its not the Burger King signs that's the problem(advertising to me is realistic), its that The King Mascot is in someone's corner. Ali comes to the ring with Rap Music & Hoe's. Its just the little things that disgust the boxing purists.

I dont have the game yet, but you said you "can" pick the BK guy. You dont have to right? If it bugs you this much then dont do it!
This seems like the equivilent of Mascot teams in NCAA Football. Do I think its stupid? yep. Have I ever played with them? nope Might some people get a giggle out of it? yep. Does it cause me to throw a fit? not at all.

In my opinion EA has NEVER tried to put out the best game possible, they want to sell the most. I am never surprised at what EA does. Look at their 360 launch line up. Looks great plays like **** after 16 years of Madden I would have thought we would be much further alone then we are.

I'm hardly surprised. And if I remember correctly Kudo loved Big Tigga but canned him because of public outrage. It might be the one and only time he's actually listened to the public.
After seeing what he's done with this series I wouldn't be surprised if we're fighting Disney characters in Round 4.

If Evander Holyfield truly wants to do something for boxing he should knock Kudo's head off. This game is about as close to professional boxing as Pokeman is to the NFL.

In my opinion EA has NEVER tried to put out the best game possible, they want to sell the most. I am never surprised at what EA does. Look at their 360 launch line up. Looks great plays like **** after 16 years of Madden I would have thought we would be much further alone then we are.

As many have said I think this is fine as you dont have to use him and it doesnt impact the game at all. In fact, I will probably use him just to get a good chuckle out of my friends. Long live the King!

If you're using words like "sickening" and "disgusting" to describe EA including The King as an optional choice of trainer in a boxing video game, I think it's time to seriously reassess your life.

It's not like they called the game BK Boxing and make you fight every bout in a huge hollowed-out replica of a Whopper box or something....

True, but the advertising is REALLY heavy in this game. Everytime you knock someone down Joe will say "This replay is brought to you by the brand new DODGE CALIBER!" (or Burger King, or Everlast, or Under Armour, etc) Yes you can skip the replay but if I'm beating the tar out of my friend I want to see the blood fly out of his mouth.

I just ignore the whole thing about the King. You dont have to pick him so it doesnt matter...On another note, I would think that all of this endorsement money they are recieving from these companies could have been used for something like....adding more boxers to the game. I mean they didnt have half of these advertisers last year and they had more boxers.
