But I will say that I'm looking forward to Round 4 when, between rounds, your fighter can get a boost of energy after eating a delicious Bacon & Cheese Whopper. And don't forget the fries! Who needs a deep and comprehensive career mode when you've got the Fry Guys patching up your cuts! Not me!

It's not like they called the game BK Boxing and make you fight every bout in a huge hollowed-out replica of a Whopper box or something....
I don't need to reassess my life, I can handle all the banners and ring post adverts( and good god there are plenty of them in this game) but when the King is escorting fighters to the ring, that's just plain stupid. I guess I'm not a 14 year old booger picker so I just don't get it. From all the screens and interviews I read, I was geared up for a realistic boxing experience.
Operation Sports: Will there be multiple promoters that our fighter can sign with?
Kudo Tsunoda: "You are able to sign with multiple trainers and corner people in the game ALL of whom have an affect on your career. "
So can the King get me a good deal on a whopper after a big fight?
To me this is the WTF moment in sports gaming this year.. If some of you think it is funny to have the King escort Ali out to the ring, good for you. I think it is embarrassing to the sport.Comment

I don't like the advertising, either - at all.
However, it's definitely here to stay.
2K Sports' College Hoops has had Burger King marketing built into it for the last couple years. Remember "Have it your way" roster management? Ugh.Shawn Drotar

Or, like someone here pointed out, they could have taken the money made from BK and bought a few more real life boxers.
But I'm mostly offended because Kudo thinks it's funny to have The King in there. It shows me that he finds the sport rediculous and that he's probably bitter because noone will pay him to make a ping-pong game.Comment

Re: Sickening finding - EA sells out to Burger King
What offends me is when people make these statements about the development process of the game and at the same time manage to clarify how little they actually know about the business.
Not making the burger king guy would not have helped with career mode. There would have been another task in its place for that perticular team. The team that was responsible for the implementation of the king probably had jack squat to do with the layout and design plan for the career mode.
Your gripes about certain aspects of the career are valid IMO, but iam so tired of seeing stuff like "man if they didnt make a mascot team you know how much more time they could have had developing the AI" when in reality the 2 jobs aren't even connected. 2 different teams many different taks and different deadlines.
You as and art guy wouldn't walk over to the programming department and say "I have restructured my work schedule to allow me time to work on AI with you, overall I think its better for the game" It would be nice, but it just dosent work that way.Comment

Just to clarify, if you want people to take you seriously when you critique the development of a game, a car, a jet, or whatever atleast have some facts. You will come up with more usefull ideas, and your opinions will be respected and valued.Comment

Not only this, but, what do people think helped EA to spend so much money and effort developing the technology used to make the absolutely incredible graphics in this game? Basically - they cut a deal with Burger King to allow them to sell in-game advertising. EA thus had more money to spend on the game because they got money from Burger King in exchange for advertising.
People are acting like someone from Burger King came to EA and said "Hey - take a few guys from your development team off of career mode and put the King in the game. We'll give you 5 grand." In-game advertising has absolutely nothing to do with this.
I sincerely hope that EA does this all the time. Think about it - the more advertising revenue they genrate from simple tie-ins like this. Basically - if EA makes it so that real companies appear on signs and in minor things, like "Pontiac Game of the Week" and "Under Armour Championship Bout" - there is less pressure to sell the game and more money available to develop the game.
Besides - I hate playing games that have fictional advertising in them - or that simply have "EA Sports" plastered everywhere. If anything, having real advertising adds to the authenticity of a game.Comment
