Yeah, um, that was a blast.

Just finished a 12 rounder online. I was JC and he was the Ghost. I won on all 3 cards 119-112, but the fight was much closer. We both threw around 600 total punches each. 1.5 rounds.

I owned him early, and then in Kelly style he steamrolled me from 5-7 and drained me pretty bad. I adjusted and countered more and coasted to a final victory.

I never had a FN game go the distance, and my first 4 fights on Prizefighter have gone the distance.

Not having goofy haymakers and parrying and all that crap really changes the strategy online.

I still haven't figured out all the signature punches, as I am really concetrating right now on defending and countering.

Good times so far online. No lag whatsoever.

Though I really think FN 4 will be better because they are now focused, but this game is FAR superior to Fight Night 3.

Thats really great. Fight night is a bore once you figure out the controls. There is no strategy at all for that game against the cpu. If PF makes you learn how to box, then i am all for it.

I need to get my *** up and get the game, but i will wait until after the Finals.

Attached is my cab Wlad. Will do Lennox later. I don't have decompression software, so I took a pic with my cell of a pic I took with my dig cam. Trashy. But this pic will give you an idea how good the CAB is, even though a 5 cab limit is inexcusable.

            Gamespot - 5.5
            IGN - 5
            Gamespy 2.5/5

This is no coincidence. It sounds to me like some people are trying to convince themselves that this game is "too sim" because they want so bad to like the game. Face it guys, the dudes at Gamespot, IGN, Gamespy, etc. have many more games come across their desk to play than all of us combined. They are hardcore gamers like the rest of us. This game isn't reviewing so low because it's "too sim". It's reviewing so low because it sucks.

No offense, but a couple of geeks who never wore a jockstrap or tights aren't really going to sway what I am seeing and playing in front of my face. Prizefighter is a flawed, fun game that is the best boxing game to date. Does that say much? No, considering the comp of Fight Night. But I have no doubt that FN 4 will be better, but until then, this game will do. It is playing great online.

I don't normally look at reviews, but I am surprised it is that low. I wouldn't pay that much attention to those scores though, I would much rather listen to OS members' impressions.

Stop trolling. Its not like people arent playing the game themselves. I have the game and while I dont like it as much as others here...it doesnt suck. Just because someone reviews games for a living doesnt mean that they know more about boxing games than us. Ive played pretty much every boxing game released so I know what I'm talking about. They review the game for the average gamer. The average gamer isnt going to like this because its not a button masher and has a high learning curve.

I can deal with the slow gameplay. My main gripe is the unresponsive controls and movement. It's a decent game. I think FN will be better. Hopefully they continue this series and build on it. They have a pretty good start IMO.

QFT. This is a flawed game that IS NOT pick up and play.

                            (quick impressions)

just played the game for a bit...
i have to say that i am impressed.

                            the controls:
those familiar with the boxers road/victorious boxer series should feel very comfortable with controlling your fighter because the control layout is very similar.

-the buttons are responsive and the fighter movement is good(could still be a little more fluid),i think it moves better than FN but not as good as VB.

-i find it easier using the D-pad to move into and back out of the action, the analog stick just doesn't get it done as far as that goes, but works well for everything else.

                            graphics:
the game looks so much better than the vids.
                            - there is blood and sweat and neither are overdone.
-there is only 1 camera angle, but it works really well.

                            gameplay:
                            - the game reminds me of the VB series(not a bad thing).
there is one problem that i have so far and that's the AI boxers refuse to retreat. jabs, hooks crosses, body shots all do nothing in getting the AI to rethink his strategy. the only way to back the AI up is to hit him with a shot that sends him reeling across the ring..

                            - you have the ability to let your hands go whether you connect or not(not like FN). this is a good thing.

-unless it was the fighters that i have used and fought you will not dictate a fight using your jab

-defense is very important. the stick and move method really applies here so i recommend learning the defensive moves and what situations to use them in.

the developers seem to have programmed this AI with fightgame (virtua fighter, tekken etc..) mentality and not a boxers mentality.
the games fighters all punch and move like boxers with really good mechanics, but they don't think/react like a boxers.

all-in-all i like the game and i don't think anyone looking for a good boxing game will be disappointed.

                            MULTIPLAYER:

all pretty much the same except for the strategy.

this is no haymaker fest, so if anyone comes in swinging away with no regard to health and no real strategy they will find themselves tapping the A button trying to open their eyes.

things to work on for PF2:
                            -more fluid footwork
-boxing AI to behave/react like boxers and not like a fighting game.

Thanks. The first thing I always check on CAB boxing games to see how serious they are is the "braided bun" that Lennox wore. This game has it. That in itself is pretty impressive.

On the face, you can do ears, jaw, cranium, etc...

I spent 5 minutes tops on Wlad and made him pretty damn good.

The problem is that there are only 5 slots and you have to build up each fighter during your career or they will get blasted online. I will not be playing career again after I run through with Wlad.

I did beat someone using Golota with my weak Wlad, but he sucked and I fought like a *****.

Thanks for the D-pad point. I will try that.

Agreed on the fighters, they really don't fight like their real life counterparts and the ratings aren't accurate for some of them.

I disagree on the control a fight with the jab part. I control all the fights with my jab by making sure I am full blue when I throw it in the first couple of rounds. After that, the other fight is usually starting to wear and I then do my damage.
