Alright, I'm a little late to the party - just got the game today and I do enjoy it.

I think this will be a good boxing sim if they patch two things

1. Jabs - need to be more effective
2. Signature punches need to be toned down

I love the fact that you really have to outbox your opponent, the game is not perfect, but it feels strategic enough to be a fun game to play.

Find the tips I posted awhile back. Just make to incorporate your step in jab with the regular jab.

Yep I was playing online Pavlik (me) vs Calzaghe and I was working him with straights and jabs, then I'd dash back, wait for him to come in and I'd fire the step in jab. More often than not it would land flush and send him stangering back, but it wasn't taking any health away. The fight went a full 12 rounds (2min rounds), but by the end of the fight he might have only been missing about 15% of his health. Also, I won 3 rounds and split a couple, so I was landing shots, they just weren't hurting him.

That was only my 3rd or 4th fight overall though so we'll see.

3. No rankings and you are basically fighting bosses in career mode. For example, I lost to the same guy 4 times in a row in career mode until I beat him. You can only choose between a couple guys at a time to fight.

Well, now I completely regret removing NASCAR 09 from my Gamefly queue to ensure I'd get Prizefighter instead.

How do you transfer created boxers to a memory card? I spent hours over at a friend's house creating Roy Jones and B-hop, but when I go to the memory to try and transfer the save to a card the Prizefighter icon appears nowhere. I'm ticked because I did a lot of tweaking and I'm not looking forward to doing it again. Anyone know why this is?

Well, now I completely regret removing NASCAR 09 from my Gamefly queue to ensure I'd get Prizefighter instead.

I've only played the demo of Nascar, but judging from that PF is way better.

I don't think you can transfer saves between profiles. Unless you did the tweaking on your own profile, I think your SOL.

This is one of the things that show that the original xbox is far superior to the 360. Sure the graphics hardware is better. but memory card management is the most important thing to me and i don't think i'll ever feel confident with the way files are managed on the 360.

It may appear the deeper you get into career mode, the more fights go to the cards. I had 4 fights go to the cards last night out of 7 or so total fights. I won 3 out of the 4 decisions. My record now is 13-3-0 with 10 KO's. I might have been able to take a few of those decisions out in the 10th round, but why risk it? I flash KO'd the AI with 1 second left in the 10th round last night. It was the first time he was down and stayed down. He was way ahead on the cards and was trying take the last round for good measure. I had been down twice in the fight and was nearly spent, when ***BAM*** Overhand right dropped him, he hit the mat just as the bell rang and the ref counted him out. I was suprised he didn't get up.

So now I am a little more cautious when I think I have the lead late in the fight, no need to take a risk of a flash KO.

I really wish the judges scored the fights with more differentiation.


Oh and that fixed fight, I couldn't do anything to that guy. I lost that decision huge, but I didn't even come close to knocking him down. Just a bad fight on my behalf, maybe I was pressing, but I didn't rematch him. That fight had bad news written all over it........
